Punjab skipper, Adam Gilchrist hailed the efforts of his bowlers and was glad that his side started their four-match away journey with a win. "Now, we have got three of the most fancied teams in the competition in Kolkatta, Mumbai and Chennai in a row. It's a nice way to start this trip. We have made a step in the right direction," Gilchrist said.
Praising his bowlers, Gilly stated, "It was terrific to get another win. The way Harmeet came on and implemented his skills was terrific. To restrict them to 120 was a great effort. Back-to-back wins build a good spirit and lift the spirit within the team," he added.
Gilchrist also had a few words of encouragement for his opening partner, Mandeep Singh. "Mandeep has been fantastic for us. I have let him down by getting out first. He has been able to consolidate with whoever comes in," quoted Gilchrist.
Harmeet Singh who was awarded the man of the match prize for his figures of 3/24 including the prized scalp of Virender Sehwag, said, "It was a double-paced wicket as some balls were going through and some stopping on the batsmen. It was important to read the wicket quickly and adjust your variations," the medium pacer said.
