Musharraf returns from exile for polls, vows to save Pakistan

Karachi: Former military dictator Pervez Musharraf on Sunday ended nearly four years in self-exile defying threats of arrest and assassination by Taliban, saying that he returned home to "save" Pakistan and would face all "challenges" that lay ahead.

69-year-old Musharraf along with a delegation of around 150 people, including supporters from his All Pakistan Muslim League and journalists, landed at Jinnah International airport here by a chartered Emirates flight from Dubai.

Talking to reporters accompanying him from Dubai to Karachi, a smiling Musharraf said: "It is (a) very emotional (moment). I'm going back after four years."

"There are a lot of challenges. There are security challenges, legal challenges, political challenges. But I will face them," Musharraf clad in an off white shalwar-kameez said as he made his way out of the aircraft.

"Where are the people who said I will never return home. I have been receiving death threats and some people have been trying to scare me but I have returned home for the sake of my country and people," an emotional Musharraf told his supporters.

The former commando-turned-politician said he would soon be launching a countrywide campaign of public rallies and media interaction.

"I have taken a big risk returning home now. But tears come to my eyes seeing the state of the country now. I ask where is the Pakistan I had left five years ago," he said.

"People have tried to sabotage my first public rally in Karachi and already hurdles are being created for me but I am ready to face all challenges whether they are security, political or legal issues," Musharraf said.

The former President claimed that he had been implicated in a lot of cases while in exile but he was ready to face them because he wanted to see Pakistan prosper again.

"My party slogan today is save Pakistan. I am thankful and happy to see so many people come to welcome me," he said.

Delhi-born Musharraf was the mastermind and strategic field commander behind the highly controversial and internationally condemned Kargil infiltration, which derailed peace negotiations with India.

Musharraf had left Pakistan on April 19, 2009, saying he was going abroad for a series of lectures. He did not return from that trip and several courts issued arrest warrants for the former President in connection with the killings of Bhutto and Baloch nationalist leader Akbar Bugti.

Since then, Musharraf has been shuttling between London and Dubai and earned hundreds of thousands of dollars on worldwide lecture tours.

On March 22, The Sindh High Court granted a 10 day pre-arrest bail to Musharraf in several cases in some of which he has been declared a proclaimed offender.

Yesterday, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan threatened to use suicide bombers to target Musharraf when he returns home.

In a video released to reporters in northwest Pakistan, TTP spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan said, "We will not leave you alive."

His planned press conference at the airport here was cancelled and would be held later in the week in Islamabad.

Earlier members of his party had said security officials had advised Musharraf to not hold the press conference or address any rally because of security threats to his life.

"But after hours of negotiations the former President made it clear he will not leave the terminal building without first addressing the media and his supporters who have come in thousands to welcome him home," party spokesman Arif Ishaq said.

The Sindh home department also revoked the NOC issued to the APML to hold a public rally at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam in the city later in the day which Musharraf was supposed to address to mark his return to Pakistan.

Ishaq said Musharraf was very emotional on returning home after a long time in exile and was insistent on also going to the mausoleum to offer prayers.

"He was very emotional and happy but a lot of questions remain on his future plans given the high security threats to his life," another party member said.

He is expected to stay in Karachi for two days before going to Islamabad where he ruled the country as chief executive and then President from 1999 to 2008.

But it was noticeable at the airport that the former President still has a lot of followers and admirers among the people despite the cases pending against him in the courts and his self imposed exile.

The number of his supporters that included women and children swelled from hundreds to thousands as soon as his plane landed at the airport but they started returning home disappointed without catching a glimpse of their leader after being told there would be no address or conference by him.

His supporters, dancing to Bhangra tunes and playing national songs, were clearly excited to see their leader return home as they waited outside the terminal building and around the airport which is a high risk security zone.

Musharraf's spokesman Rashid Qureshi said that hundreds of more supporters had been unable to reach inside the airport due to the security arrangements.

"Many of them were also confused about where to welcome their leader as they have gone to the Quaid's mazar for the public rally which has not been allowed by the authorities."

Musharraf admitted that he had some concerns about what to expect in Pakistan now. "Basically there are a lot of unknown factors especially of terrorism and extremism and still unresolved legal issues with the main question will I be allowed to contest the elections," he said.

The former President who came to power in October, 1999 in a bloodless coup against the Nawaz Sharif government is said to have also brought his own security although the Sindh provincial home department said he would be driven from the airport to his destination in a convoy and bullet proof vehicle.

"But we will not allow him to hold any public rally as we have reports about serious security threats to his life," senior police official Tahir Naveed said.

No political party has reacted to Musharraf's return so far. His official Facebook and Twitter accounts kept on providing live commentary, posting messages and photographs of him boarding the aircraft and sitting in his seat in the Emirates flight which took off from Dubai after some delay.

Delhi Police holds ground, releases sketch of another Hizbul terrorist

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday released the sketch of a suspected Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist linked to a fidayeen attack plot, unfazed by controversy over arrest of an alleged operative four days ago from Indo-Nepal border in the case.

The sketch is that of a person who checked into a guest house in Old Delhi and left there an AK-56 and ammunition allegedly for Liyaqat Ali Shah, who was arrested on March 20.

Police had recovered arms and ammunition from the guest house following the interrogation of Shah and are trying to nab the person with the help of the sketch, a senior police official said.

"We had prepared the sketch on the basis of the CCTV footage and the description given by hotel staff," the official said.

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has claimed that it had foiled a 'fidayeen (suicide) strike' in the capital with the arrest of Shah, who, they claimed, was a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist who planned attacks to avenge Afzal Guru's hanging.

Shah's arrest had sparked a controversy after Jammu and Kashmir government and police contradicted Delhi Police's version that he was coming to Delhi to coordinate terror strikes here during Holi.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police has supported the claims of Shah's family that he was a former militant who had surrendered before SSB at the Sanauli check-post on the Nepal border and was part of a group returning from Pakistan- occupied Kashmir (PoK )as part of the rehabilitation policy of the Jammu and Kashmir government.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had spoken to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde seeking an NIA probe into the issue and said he was on his way to Jammu and Kashmir to surrender.

As an important confidence building measure, the state government had entered into an understanding with the Home Ministry that any youth who had joined militant ranks in 1990s and wishing to return via Nepal would be allowed to do so provided he surrenders before the army or police in the Valley.

Protesters march against Wharton snub to Narendra Modi

Protesters march against Wharton snub to Narendra Modi
Washington: About 200 Indian-Americans marched in protest against the controversial withdrawal of an invitation to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to speak at the Wharton India Economic Forum.

Marching under the banner of a group called Americans for Free Speech, they chanted: "We want Modi!" as the Forum held its conference Saturday afternoon at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Philadelphia.

The march, followed by a series of speeches from guest speakers, was held across the street from the conference to which members of the press were denied entrance, the Daily Pennsylvanian reported.

About 200 protesters from across the US gathered for the march with two buses from New Jersey and one from Queens, New York bringing people to the protest.

During the march, a sign was posted outside the conference hall by the protesters that read: "In memory of Free Speech 1776-2013. Killed at Wharton by the English Department."

The march is "carrying the funeral of free speech", Narain Kataria, a speaker at the event, was quoted as saying.

Protesters held up signs that read "First they came for the Hindus", "End McCarthyism against Hindus", and "Stop Academic Jihad", among others.

One organizer shouted to the crowd that the march was as important as that of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr, the newspaper reported.

People on stilts and a jazz band marched with the protesters to "push the excitement", said musician Devon Taylor. Bystanders watched as the crowd of protesters slowly moved their way to Franklin Field.

Modi, who has been denied a US visa for his alleged role in the 2002 Gujarat riots, was disinvited to speak at the forum by live video on a petition from a group of Pennsylvania university faculty and students not connected with Wharton.

Following the withdrawal of invitation to Modi, Arvind Kejriwal, founder of Aam Aadmi Party, was invited to speak via live video-conference.

Speaking from New Delhi, Kejriwal said he was "not a supporter of Mr Modi", but was "troubled" and "dismayed" at Wharton's decision to issue an invitation and then cancel it "under pressure", calling it "very wrong".

VVIP chopper deal: CBI shares documents with ED....

New Delhi: Expanding its probe, the CBI has shared crucial documents with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) showing money trail of the alleged Rs 362-crore kickback in the VVIP chopper deal with Anglo-Italian firm AgustaWestland.

The CBI, which is the lead probe agency in the case, has received some more crucial documents from Defence Ministry and Italy in connection with the Rs 3,600-crore deal. These documents are being examined by agency officials, official sources said.

The documents, carrying details of money trail, have been shared with the ED for further scrutiny, they said.

The ED is likely to register a case on the basis of fresh set of documents received from the investigating agency.

The ED, which is already conducting a probe since last year for alleged violation of forex laws in the deal, may also register a criminal case of money laundering to probe allegations of kickbacks.

The agency has already registered a preliminary enquiry (PE) against 11 people including former IAF chief S P Tyagi, his three cousins, European middlemen and four companies.

Suspected European middlemen Carlo Garosa, Christian Michel and Guido Haschkhe, advocate Gautam Khaitan formerly associated with Aeromatrix and its CEO Praveen Bakshi, former Finmeccanica Chairman Giuseppe Orsi, former AgustaWestland CEO Bruno Spagnolini have also been named in the PE registered by the CBI.

All the suspects have refuted the allegations.

In its PE, registered to probe the alleged kickbacks in the 12 AW-101 VVIP helicopters from AgustaWestland deal, CBI is looking into the role of some middlemen suspected to have influenced the deal in favour of the Italian company.

The agency suspects that a portion of Rs 362 crore bribe was allegedly routed to Indian nationals, through Tunisia and Mauritius, camouflaged as payments for engineering contracts to Chandigarh-based--IDS Infotech and Aeromatrix. Both the companies had denied involvement in the bribery scandal.

The CBI is likely to send judicial requests to UK, Italy, Mauritius and Tunisia seeking information about financial transactions carried out by accused in the deal.

Sri Lanka may pull its mission out of Tamil Nadu....

Colombo: Faced with growing anti-Sri Lankan sentiments in Tamil Nadu, Colombo may shift its deputy high commission office out of Chennai, a media report said on Sunday.

The new location could be Trivandrum in neighbouring Kerala, the Sunday Times said.

Threats and intimidation of Sri Lankan nationals and Sri Lankan property have been noted in Chennai.

The paper claimed that even the Sri Lankan defence attache based in Chennai had come under harassment.

Last week, two Buddhist monks came under attack triggering noisy protests here near the Indian High Commission premises and Sri Lanka's national carrier also suspended flights to Chennai.

Top Indian officials here met with senior Buddhist monks to try to allay fears. The protests came as India voted against Sri Lanka alongside the US in a key UN human rights resolution, last week, that called for an independent and credible investigation into allegations of human rights violations towards the end of the island's three-decade civil war against Tamil separatists in 2009.

Ravindra Jadeja credits Ashwin for his success

Ravindra Jadeja credits Ashwin for his success
New Delhi: All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who bagged his maiden fifer in India`s six-wicket win over Australia in the fourth cricket Test, credited his success to off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

The left-arm spinner said he enjoyed bowling in tandem with the offie, who was adjudged Man of the Series for his haul of 29 wickets.

Jadeja, who was Man of the Match in the fourth Test here Sunday, said he tried to bowl in the right areas and the rest was taken care of by the wicket.

"I did well in this game. The wicket helped the spinners so I was bowling well. Just wanted to get as many as possible. Unfortunately I didn`t score many runs with the bat, but I bowled well in the series. I`m used to playing on such wickets in Rajkot. I was bowling in the right areas and the rest the wicket was doing," he said.

Ashwin, who picked up 29 wickets in the four-match Tests, surpassed former India captain Anil Kumble as the leading wicket-taker for India in a four-Test series. Kumble had 27 wickets -- also in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2004-05 but for a losing cause.

"Everything has gone pretty well, there were a few changes I had to make after the England series. Very happy at how it has come out. I had to work on my delivery stride. We had very little time, I was lucky to have a coach who identified it pretty quickly. I definitely needed a kick on the backside and they gave me one," he said.

Ashwin also said that the Kotla wicket was tricky for both the teams.

"It was quite a tricky wicket for both set of batsmen and bowlers, I thought (Cheteshwar) Pujara played a terrific innings today. Satisfaction is not something I intend to attain, hopefully I can build on this," he said.

Cricketing world congratulates India

Cricketing world congratulates India
New Delhi: After a thumping 4-0 triumph over Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India was congratulated on the social networking site Twitter by several cricketers Sunday.

"Congrats boys, well done. Njoy it big time, a well-deserved whitewash," tweeted opening batsman Gautam Gambhir, who is currently out of the team due to jaundice.

Legendary Australian pace bowler Glenn Mcgrath said: "A very convincing win to India. India totally dominated the series. Aussies have a lot of work to do before the Ashes. Congratulations India."

Out of favour pace bowler Zaheer Khan also congratulated the team.

"Congratulations team INDIA on a great series win !!"

Former India opener Aakash Chopra also lauded the outstanding result: "Lost all the tosses but won all the matches. Outstanding result for India. Well done :) #IndvAus"

One of the greatest spinners of all time, Shane Warne also applauded India`s performance.

"Congrats to India on the series win and the way their young players have played..."

Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar said: "Winning 4-0 is no mean feat... and that is how this series win has to be looked at... Well done India !!"

This was the first time India whitewashed a series 4-0.

Ishant Sharma fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct........

Ishant Sharma fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct
New Delhi: Gangling India paceman Ishant Sharma was today fined 15 per cent of his match fee for gesturing towards the pavilion after dismissing Australian batsman James Pattinson during the third day`s play in the fourth Test here.

Sharma admitted to the charge and accepted the sanction imposed by ICC Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle.

Through his admission, Sharma was found to have breached Level 1 Article 2.1.6 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel (the ?Code?), which relates to pointing or gesturing towards the pavilion by a bowler or a fielder upon the dismissal of a batsman during an International Match.

The incident happened on the fourth ball of the 45th over when Sharma, after dismissing Pattinson, repeatedly gestured towards the pavilion while in his follow through.

"Ishant’s reaction after dismissing James Pattinson was inappropriate and clearly in breach of the Code. I’m sure Ishant will learn from this incident and ensure such actions are not be repeated in the future," Madugalle said.

On-field umpires Aleem Dar and Richard Kettleborough, third umpire S.Ravi and fourth umpire Anil Chowdhary brought the charge.

All Level 1 breaches for this offence carry a penalty of a warning/reprimand and/or the imposition of a fine up to 50 per cent of the applicable match fee. As with other breaches at this level, the ICC Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.

What`s a "strategy" and what`s "defensive", questions Dhoni...

What`s a
New Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni took a dig at his critics who had questioned his captaincy, seeking an answer about what is a "strategy" and what exactly is "defensive".

"You have to answer what`s right and what`s wrong," Dhoni said at the post-match press conference.

"When four fast bowlers play, it`s strategy and when three or four spinners play, it becomes a bad wicket! When a deep point, deep fine leg and deep third man is kept for Virender Sehwag, it`s a strategy but if M S Dhoni uses a deep point or deep square leg for David Warner, it`s a defensive field set," said a sarcastic Dhoni.

He was categorical in stating that the era of playing "aggressive cricket" is gone.

"The kind of cricket we play has entirely changed. You have followed this series, whenever an off-spinner has bowled, we have had a short leg, a backward (short leg) and a silly point. With this we have a deep mid-wicket and a long-on. The era of playing aggressive cricket and to have the mid-on up is gone. You now try to read the mindset of a batsman.

"You don`t want to give easy runs in a bunch. If they take four singles, it`s ok," the skipper explained.

As usual, Dhoni said that the word "revenge" was not in his mind as the word doesn`t go well with the "spirit of cricket".

"Doesn`t matter if it`s 4-0, 2-2, 3-1. I like to keep words like revenge out of the series. Then very next question people ask is spirit of the game. Revenge and spirit of the game, the vocabulary gets too confusing," he said.

Don`t speculate on Tendulkar`s career: Dhoni.....

Don`t speculate on Tendulkar`s career: Dhoni
New Delhi: Batting great Sachin Tendulkar left the cricketing world guessing by not announcing his much speculated retirement after India whitewashed Australia 4-0 to lift the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Ferozeshah Kotla here Sunday.

Even skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni asked the media not to speculate on Tendulkar, who retired from One-Day Internationals (ODI) in December.

"Do not speculate on Sachin`s career. In 2005, you (media) also said the same thing but that never happened," said Dhoni in the post-match press conference.

The cricketing world was abuzz with rumours that the fourth Test here would be last time Tendulkar will bat in a Test match on Indian soil or ever. Over the weekend, the Ferozeshah Kotla witnessed a healthy turnout.

Whenever he came out to bat or went back to the pavilion, the crowd gave Tendulkar a standing ovation.

Given that India will not play another Test match in India for more than a year, speculation is rife about when Tendulkar will call it a day as by the time he plays his Test on home soil, the legend will already be 41.

Of late, he has also struggled with his form, being among the least run scorers amongst the Indian batsmen with his last Test century coming in January 2011 against South Afric

MODI--FACTS

Here are some facts about development of Gujarat under Mr Narendra Modi. The important fact is that Gujarat has achieved all this growth despite the state being the ONLY major state that has a prohibition on manufacture and sale of liquor, which is the largest source of revenue for all major states.
» Agricultural Growth: In last 10 years, the agriculture growth rate of Gujarat is higher than every other state in the country.
» Rural Poverty Line: The drop in share of population below poverty line in rural areas between 2004-05 and 2009-10 has been remarkable in Gujarat at 13% reduction (from 39% to 26%), which puts Gujarat among the top few states in this parameter. (Tendulkar methodology, compared between 2004-05 and 2009-10, Page 45 of 232, Planning Commission Report). This is a natural corollary of the earlier point about the quality of GDP growth, but remains largely an untold story so far.
» Good Governance: The Gujarat growth story is more about providing effective governance, At a time when corruption scandals like Adarsh in Maharashtra, or Jagan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh or CWG in Delhi, Gujarat has remained largely unscathed with no major corruption scandal emerging,
» Basic infrastructure: Gujarat is among the very few Power surplus states in the country today, despite having such high levels of industrialization. The water infrastructure in Gujarat has improved significantly in the last decade because of the number of initiatives taken by the government, with the involvement of local panchayats (Data reference not readily available, but anecdotal evidence confirms this. Read Ms. Meera Sanyal’s blog on this after on-ground visits to Mehsana and Sabarkantha districts). Ahmedabad BRTS is a good public transport success story comparable to international standards, which finds no mention in the author’s column.
» Gujarat is one of the most prosperous states of the country, having a per-capita GDP 3.2 times India's average.
» If it was a nation it would have been 67th richest nation in the world above many European and Asian economies like China and Ukraine .
» Gujarat holds many records in India for economic development:
  • 20% of India's Industrial Output.
  • 9% of India's Mineral Production.
  • 22% of India's exports.
  • 24% of India's textile production.
  • 35% of India's pharmaceutical products.
  • 51% of India's petrochemical production.
» Gujarat ranks first nationwide in gas-based thermal electricity generation with national market share of over 8% and second nationwide in nuclear electricity generation with national market share of over 1%.
» Over 20% of the S&P CNX 500 conglomerates have corporate offices in Gujarat.
» India's 16% of Investment are from Gujarat.
» Gandhinagar is the Greenest Capital City in whole Asia.
» Gujarat is the safest state as the Crime rate of it is 8.2 which is the least in India even after considering 2002 communal riots, stated by India Today 2005 report.
» Gujarat is having least crime against women among all Indian states (excluding Goa) where AP is 1st, Delhi is 2nd , Bihar is 3rd ,Zarakhand is 4th and UP is 5th.
» Ahmedabad which is the seventh largest city in India is the lowest in crime rate among all Tier-I and Tier-II cities of India as per National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report.
» Ahmedabad is ranked 2nd in Real Estate - Ahead of Bangalore,Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai & Delhi. 3rd in Policy Initiatives - Ahead of Bangalore, Chennai, Calcutta, Mumbai & Delhi. 4th in Manpower - Ahead of Bangalore,Chennai, Mumbai & Delhi.
The list can go on....

Gujarat made maximum progress in fighting malnutrition: Narendra Modi
"According to a CAG report, Gujarat has made maximum progress in fighting malnutrition in the last five years," Modi said while conferring awards to anganwadi workers and women sportspersons at a function here.

He said that while India on an average made 8 per cent progress in the last five years in tackling the menace of malnutrition, which Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singhhad termed it a shame on our country, Gujarat made 32 per cent progress.

"This shows that we have followed the right path and the government's efforts are yielding results," he added.

Modi gave away Rs 37.24 lakh as prize money to 23 women of whom seven were sportpersons, who won medals in international competitions.

Indian Americans protest against Wharton's Narendra Modi slight

WASHINGTON: About 200 Indian-Americans held a peaceful protest march in Pennsylvania against the controversial withdrawal of an invitation to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to speak at the prestigiousWharton India Economic Forum (WIEF).

Under the banner of "Americans for Free Speech," the Indian-Americans chanted slogans like "We want Modi" and displayed his pictures on posters and banners.

Most of the protesters who had arrived from New York and New Jersey marched down several blocks to hold a demonstration in front of the WIEF event yesterday, which held its day-long conference on the India's economic development.

Several speakers addressed the protesters gathered across the street from Harrison Auditorium at the University of Pennsylvania, where the conference was held.

"Members of the press were denied entrance to the conference," The Daily Pennsylvania reported, putting the number of protesters at 200.

Opposing the decision of WIEF to cancel its invitation to Modi after three University of Pennsylvania professors protested against it, Narain Kataria of the Indian American Intellectuals Forum alleged that WIEF had attacked the "freedom of speech" and called it an "inappropriate interference" into the Indian political process.

Later in a memorandum submitted to the University of Pennsylvania President Dr Amy Gutmann, the protesters said they were "saddened and outraged to see this great university being bullied by a mere three English and Social Work activist professors" of Indian origin.

"The principal issues here are freedom of speech and right to dissent. Sadly, both of these have been brutally trampled on at UPenn by this action," the memorandum stated.

Wharton snubbed Modi at the eleventh hour and withdrew invitation to speak at the forum by live video following a petition from a group of Pennsylvania university faculty and students not connected with Wharton.

The Gujarat Chief Minister has also been denied a US visa for his alleged role in the 2002 Gujarat riots.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart

attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating

improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only

about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing

repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should

be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep

and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep

inside the chest.

A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two

seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until

the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing

movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood

circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also

helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart

attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many

other people as possible about this. It could save

their lives!!

A cardiologist says If everyone who gets this mail

sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we'll save at

least one life.

Rather sending jokes pls contribute by forwarding this info
which can save a person's life...

INDIA ROCKS.....

Ashwin is declared the Man of the series. He picked up 29 wickets in the 4 Tests.

The Man of the Match is Ravindra Jadeja for his all-round show. He picked 43 runs and 7 wickets.

MS Dhoni : "It was an important series for us. It was a good thing that there were a few changes to the side. There were some brilliant individual performances. Ashwin, Vijay, Dhawan and Jadeja did very well. We batted 2nd always and we all know how difficult it is to bat 4th in India. I thought yesterday was more difficult to bat on this track than today. I may be wrong. Credit to the support staff. The last 1 or 2 years has not been great for us in Tests. They showed a lot of character. It's the end of the season for us. We get some time off national duties before the Champions trophy. Ishant was a bit angry that the crowd here wanted Virat to get out because they wanted to see Sachin to come out. The crowd everywhere has been fantastic and they came out to support us well."
