No breakthrough yet in Bangalore blast case: Shinde......

New Delhi: A day after a blast outside the BJP office in Bangalore left 16 people injured, Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde told reporters here that the investigations were underway but no breakthrough has been reached as yet.

"No conclusions have been reached as yet in the case. Police are scanning the CCTV footage of the blast site... I assure the nation that we will book the culprits, the perpetrators of this attack," Shinde said. The Home Minister informed that the owner of the bike used in Wednesday's blast has been traced with the help of the Tamil Nadu police.

As regards any specific intelligence input about the Bangalore blast, Shinde said the Centre had been issuing alerts for the past two to three months.

"We had alerted state governments that attacks may happen where they had taken place earlier. We had also warned that metropolitan cities could be targeted.

Shinde further said that they will have to "wait for the state government's report before handing over case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA)".

He denied that the blast would affect the poll process in Karnataka. There is "no question of (the blast) derailing or affecting the election process," he added.

No `Bhajji factor` behind Sreesanth`s omission: Dravid..........

No `Bhajji factor` behind Sreesanth`s omission: Dravid
Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals captain Rahul Dravid has brushed aside talks that temperamental pacer S Sreesanth was rested for the match against Mumbai Indians to avoid a possible confrontation with Harbhajan Singh, saying it was tactical move aimed at managing the workload of players.

Sreesanth and Harbhajan were slated to meet for the first time last night in an Indian Premier League after the former reopened the `slapgate` wounds with his explosive tweets.

However, Sreesanth, who returned with figures of 2-20 off his four overs against Kings XI in Royals` previous game against Kings XI Punjab, was surprisingly left out of the match against Mumbai and in his place spinner Ankeet Chavan was drafted in.

"No there was nothing like `Bhajji factor` (behind Sreesanth`s omission)," Dravid told at the post-match press conference last night when asked whether the change was done purposefully to avoid a possible confrontation between the two volatile players.

"Sreesanth has played four matches and has performed well. We still have a long way to go and we want to keep him going throughout this long tournament. He can`t play all the matches," the Rajasthan skipper clarified.

Sreesanth reopened the 2008 Slapgate chapter a few days ago by making an explosive claim that the entire incident was planned and that his former India team-mate Harbhajan Singh "backstabbing person".

Talking about Rajasthan`s emphatic 87-run win over formidable Mumbai Indians, Dravid said their strategies worked to perfection last night.

"The first six overs in batting and bowling were decisive. (Shane) Watson and (Ajinkya) Rahane had put on 62 on board and while defending, we reduced Mumbai to 26 for 2 by picking up the crucial wickets of Sachin (Tendulkar) and (Ricky) Ponting. This helped us tighten the noose," he said.

Defending the challenging 180-run target, Dravid opened
the bowling with two spinners in Chandila and Chavan and his ploy struck gold.

While Chandila picked up the crucial wickets of Tendulkar and Ponting cheaply, Chavan just gave away 10 runs from his three overs.

"People tend to believe that I am traditional in approach but we have opened the attack with Chandila and Chavan earlier too. Yes we promoted Dishant Yagnik up the order and the ploy worked as he gave the much required thrust to the innings," Dravid said about his strategies against Mumbai Indians.

"It was hard to omit Sanju Samson because he had done so well in last match but before that Dishant also played well in the two earlier matches. Dishant returned to the side after recovering from his groin injury. The ploy worked today but some time it doesn't and then you may be criticised also," he said.

Dravid himself has been in good nick and has scored two half centuries so far in the tournament, but against Mumbai yesterday he demoted himself and sent Dishant, who scored a 24-ball 34, up the order.

"There is no fixed slot. If we had lost quick wickets I would have come in as number three. It depends upon demands and situation. We felt that a left hander like Dishant Yagnik can provide us the impetus and he came true to expectation," Dravid said.

When asked what was more important ? Rahane's batting or Chandila's early twin blows, Dravid said, "It good was good effort overall. Rahane batted well and carried his bat through while Chandila's blows were also very important."

Praising the wicket, Dravid said the curator of the at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium should be lauded for his good work.

"Taposh Chaterjee, the curator has done a fantastic job. It was easier to bat on this wicket when compared to the one used against Punjab. Taposh has been preparing great wickets and it has been good for Royals," he said.

1993 blasts: Zaibunnisa, 6 others get four weeks to surrender.......

New Delhi: A day after actor Sanjay Dutt was granted four weeks time to surrender, seven other convicts including 70-year-old Zaibunnisa Anwar Kazi, were also given the same amount of time by the Supreme Court to turn themselves in to serve their remaining sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

Granting relief to Abdul Razak Memon, Altaf Ali Sayed, Yusuf Mohsin Nulwalla, Zaibunnisa, Issaq Mohd Hajwane, Shariff Abdul Gafoor Parker alias Dadabhai and Kesri Adajania, a bench of justices P Sathasivam and B S Chauhan Thursday said no further time will be given to anyone to surrender on any ground.

The court granted the relief today, the day the deadline fixed by it for them to surrender was set to expire.

The bench, however, refused to grant relief to another convict Yusuf Khan, who had sought extension of time to surrender till his review petition is decided by the Supreme Court, saying that relief cannot be granted on this ground.

The apex court had on March 21 upheld the sentence of five years imprisonment of Yusuf Khan. The court had also upheld the jail term of life imprisonment, 10 years and five years respectively of Memon, Sayed and Nulwalla.

Apart from them, the court had also upheld the TADA court's verdict awarding five-years and life term to Zaibunnisa (70), who is suffering from cancer, and Parker (86), respectively.

The apex court had enhanced the five-year jail term of Hajwane (76) to life imprisonment and had awarded one-year jail term to Adajania (84).

The apex court had on April 16 refused to grant extension of the deadline to surrender to Zaibunnisa, Hajwane and Parker, who had pleaded they be allowed to remain out of jail till their clemency pleas were decided by the President.

A day thereafter, Dutt, 53, was granted four weeks to surrender after he urged the court to extend the deadline on humanitarian grounds.

Other convicts, including Zaibunnisa then filed a petition seeking relief on health and humanitarian grounds which was accepted by the apex court and they were also granted four weeks to surrender.

After today's order, all eight convicts, including Dutt will have to surrender before the trial court in Mumbai by May 16.

The Mumbai serial blasts on March 12, 1993 had claimed 257 lives and injured over 700.

It`s tough to bowl to unknown batsmen: Harbhajan......

It`s tough to bowl to unknown batsmen: Harbhajan
New Delhi: Mumbai Indians off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has said, the toughest challenge for him is to bowl to unknown batsmen in Twenty20 cricket as not many are aware about their nature of play.

"It is the toughest to bowl against batsmen who you do not have an idea about. You do not know their style of play and what kind of strokes they play to score their runs, hence it is challenging," Harbhajan said.

"Whatever videos I get to see of such batsmen, I try to analyse that part of it and bowl my best balls to them when I face them," he said.

Even though Rajasthan Royals scored a formidable 179 for three against Mumbai last night, Harbhajan bowled an economical spell, giving away just 26 runs from his four overs and picked up a wicket.

"I try to keep things as simple as possible. I take the game one step at a time. I always feel I have to bowl according to the situation of the team. I back myself whether I am bowling up front or bowling in the middle of the innings or bowling at the death," the off-spinner said after the match.

Harbhajan said he backs himself to pick wickets on batting friendly pitches despite going for runs.

"Bowling in T20s has always been a challenge. Since we are playing in India, it is even more difficult where the pitches are batting friendly and the boundaries are quite small. I believe at the end of the day, you got to believe in yourself and give it your best shot under such circumstances," he said.

"You have to keep believing in yourself as a bowler that even if you go for runs, you can pick up wickets. You have to back yourself and bowl accordingly," he added.

Tendulkar and I need to play better: Ponting.........

Tendulkar and I need to play better: Ponting
Jaipur: Having slumped to their worst defeat in the tournament, Mumbai Indians skipper Ricky Ponting has admitted that his and Sachin Tendulkar`s poor form has affected the team`s performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

Opening the batting, Ponting and Tendulkar have just managed two half-century stands together out of five games. As a matter of fact, on three occasions Mumbai lost its first wicket in the opening over.

And chasing a formidable 179 for three, the openers failed yet again as Mumbai suffered a humiliating 87-run loss at the hands of Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium last night.

"The two guys at the top of the order haven`t done the job required off them by the team," Ponting said at the post-match press conference.

"We are five games into the tournament; both of us need to play better. If we want to continue winning games and if we want to be the team at the end of it that holds the trophy up, then you need everyone in the team performing more often than not. Neither of us has played as well as we would have liked. I`d expect a lot from myself from the first few games compared to what I have delivered," he added.

While Ponting has scored just 52 runs from five innings, Tendulkar is marginally better managing 69 from as many games.

The Royals first rode on Ajinkya Rahane`s unbeaten 54-ball 68 to post a formidable 179 for three, and then bowled out Mumbai for 92 in 18.2 overs.

And Ponting admitted that they were outplayed by the Royals in all three departments of the game.

"We can`t blame the wicket. It looks bad whenever any team is under pressure and plays bad cricket. It was good and Rajasthan Royals batted very well to post a good total. We have to concede that we were outplayed," said Ponting, who yet again failed with the bat.

"Our bowling did not adjust in the first few overs. The wicket probably did a bit more in the second half, when we came out to bat. We should have hung on a bit. It was a big chase and we could not bat according to plan. They took the pace away and the ball was holding the surface. They used the conditions very well," said Ponting, who scored only one run before giving a return catch to Ajit Chandila.

Ponting also hinted that Mumbai could make few changes in the batting order.

"We will think about mixing and matching, reorder a bit. I talked to the coaches before this game about making sure our guys in the middle order get a fair bit of batting early in the tournament, because guys like (Ambati) Rayudu haven`t had much of batting yet."

Defending the total, Royals` opened their bowling with two slow bowlers in off-spinner Ajit Chandila, who took a hat-trick last season, and left-arm tweaker Ankeet Chavan.

Royals` ploy struck gold immediately as Chandila put early pressure on Mumbai with the wickets of Tendulkar and Ponting.
Asked if he was surprised to see Chandila opening the attack, Ponting said, "They (Rajasthan) knew the conditions well and the ball was gripping the surface so I wasn`t surprised to see them opening with Chandila and Chavan."

IPL 6: Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Daredevils - Preview......

IPL 6: Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Daredevils - Preview
New Delhi: Battered and bruised after five consecutive losses, Delhi Daredevils would look to infuse some life into their Pepsi Indian Premier League campaign when they take on an inconsistent but disciplined Chennai Super Kings on Thursday.

Daredevils, who suffered a morale-shattering loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Super Over in Bangalore last night, would have to quickly get their act together.

The absence of key foreign players through injuries, especially the big-hitting Englishman Kevin Pietersen and New Zealander Jesse Ryder, has hurt the team`s chances badly this season.

Delhi`s sorry state of affairs could be gauged from the fact that this was the same franchise which, last season, became the first team to reach the playoffs and was among the title contenders.

Languishing at the bottom of the points table in IPL-6, the Daredevils need nothing less than a miracle to turn things around in their favour and stay afloat in the championship.

A big worry for the team has been its batting, which had crumbled under pressure against Kolkata Knight Riders in their lung opener and later on against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at home.

Virender Sehwag, who is at the lowest ebb of his career, hasn`t been able to live up to his reputation. He missed the initial matches of the competition but even in the games he has played, he looked completely off colour. Although he got off to a good start against RCB yesterday with a 23-ball 25, he failed to inspire confidence among his teammates.

The non-performance of the foreign recruits has also added to Delhi`s woes. The big-hitting Australian opener David Warner shone in the matches against Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians but failed to contribute substantially in the last two outings against Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Daredevils need their bat to do the talking in the remainder of the games if they want to revive their sagging fortunes.

Skipper Mahela Jayawardene began well with a fifty in the
season-opener but his bat has fallen silent since then.

Andre Russell and Johan Botha's combined tally reads a mere 20 runs in the first two matches.

The Daredevils badly need their young guns to fire, as another defeat would make it extremely difficult for them to make the playoffs.

Naman Ojha, Manprit Juneja and Irfan Pathan will have to contribute more to the team's cause and shake off the disappointment of five consecutive losses.

The bowlers -- Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav, Irfan Pathan and Shahbaz Nadeem -- have done well for the Daredevils in their last two games and the hosts would like to see them continue their hard work tomorrow as well.

It was Umesh's twin strike in the dying minutes of the game against RCB last night that enabled the Daredevils take the match to Super Over.

On the other hand, Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings are coming into this game having suffered a shocking 24-run defeat at the hands of laggards Pune Warriors.

Barring S Badrinath and Ravindra Jadeja, their batsmen failed miserably against the Warriors as they could only score 135 in 20 overs while chasing 160 to win.

Two-time champions, CSK are placed seventh in the points table with four points from as many games.

But the visitors have resources in abundance and it will be an uphill task for Delhi. It would be interesting to see what strategy the Daredevils employ against a strong CSK.

With Mike Hussey and Murali Vijay at the top, Chennai have a formidable opening pair. The middle-order is also full of talent and experience with the likes of Suresh Raina, S Badrinath and Dhoni at their disposal. To add to that there is Dwayne Bravo, Jadeja and R Ashwin.

As far as Chennai's bowling is concerned, they have both
pacers and spinners who can not only take wickets, but also check the flow of runs.

Chris Morris and Bravo did a good job against Pune to stem the run flow after Finch's assault at the top. Bravo has always been a handy all-rounder. And with Albie Morkel also in the ranks, it only adds to Chennai's strengths.

The Amazing Leaf Insects !!!

The Leaf Insects !!!
Leaf insects use camouflage to take on the
appearance of a leaf. They do this so
accurately that predators often aren’t able
to distinguish them from real leaves. In
some species the edge of the leaf insect’s
body even has the appearance of bite
marks. To further confuse predators, when
the leaf insect walks, it rocks back and
forth, to mimic a real leaf being blown by
the wind.

Indian Architecture Clearly dominant........

Indian Architecture Clearly Explained:

On the right side is the leaning tower of pisa a bell tower of the cathedral of
the italian city of pisa, the construction occurred in 3 stages across 177 years ,the tower began to
sink after the construction progressed to the 2nd floor, the design was flawed right from the beginning, foundation was weak, soil was weak, no soil test was done, the construction was stopped due to a war, this allowed time for the underlying soil to settle, otherwise the tower would've surely toppled , a piece of architecture , which people (even ) indians consider a wonder, the tower is still under going structural strengthening even today ( started on aug 8th 1173 - 1372)

On the left side is the big temple (brihadeeswarar temple ) of thanjavur ,built by one of the greatest kings of india RAJA RAJA Chola and is one of the marvels of architecture, the temple tower is 216 ft high and is among the tallest of its kind in the world,an idea to build a mammoth temple like this is said to have occurred to raja raja while he stayed in eelam (sri lanka) as emperor, the gopuram(spire) was built over 12 years on a single .

Piece of granite weighing around 80 tons, there are no mountains around 100 kms in the surrounding range from tanjavore, which contains huge rocks, then where this stones came from? How it was been carried ? for centuries this temple has fascinated, historians, artists and travelers, for its archtectural magnificence, it has been listed by unesco heritage list of historical sites, it is considered as the expression of the tamils wealth, power and artistic expertise, but here people don't even consider it as a site to go and see, built in 1010 ad and completed its 1000 year in 2010 ,
It is a living wonder

Sometimes we forget what we have and search outside.
