Ranbir Kapoor to play Pepsi! .........

Ranbir Kapoor to play Pepsi!
New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor, who has portrayed amusing roles in his films, will be playing a character named Pepsi in Abhinav Kashyap’s film. Surprisingly, the talented actor also endorses a soft drink brand by the same name.

According to a tabloid, a source said “Ranbir is okay with the idea of having such screen names. He is a director`s actor. The audience relates to his screen names well. After Barfi, the audience used to call him by his screen name.”

The talented actor – who has played Barfi in ‘Barfi!’ and will be seen as Bunny in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ - said “It depends on the director and the script writer completely. I have no say in it. I think it`s just a coincidence that I get such names but I like them” when asked about his funny screen names during a media interaction.”
Kudos Ranbir!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie termed as `irresponsible` by neighbours ......

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie termed as `irresponsible` by neighbours
Los Angeles: Hollywood star couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been termed as "reprehensible" and "irresponsible" by their neighbours.

The couple were reportedly racing vehicles and motorbikes along one of America`s most fragile coastlines. Pitt, 49, was photographed on Easter Sunday teaching son Knox how to drive while Maddox and Pax rode motorbikes on the beach near their California ranch, reported Radar Online.

"I am not sure if it is illegal to drive on the beach in Santa Barbara County but it is certainly reprehensible. It is massively damaging to the environment and we`d hope the people who own houses on the shoreline acted more responsibly," said a source.

"I`ve heard of neighbours complaining about being bullied off the state beaches," Mike Lunsford, president of the Gaviota Coast Conservancy said.

"I think they have some over-zealous security people who have legitimate concerns about their safety and paparazzi invading their privacy? but there have been incidents where people have been just going for hike and one friend was rudely accosted," he added.

"Neighbors have all complained because Brad started trying to keep them off the beach below his house there. This is a beach that is everyone`s and they`ve enjoyed it for years," added the source.

Salman Khan never forgets his promises, says Daisy Shah ......

Salman Khan never forgets his promises, says Daisy Shah
New Delhi: Daisy Shah – who has now become a hot property in the South after signing Salman Khan’s ‘Mental’ – is all praises for her co-star.

“Salman never forgets his promises and gave me a second chance in ‘Mental’. He is the giving type. If a person deserves a chance, he will definitely give them that. I am glad that Sohail (Khan) and Salman thought that I would fit the role perfectly. The role is made for me and I am not going to prove them wrong,” a leading daily quoted her as saying.

The dancer-turned-actress – who is said to have already completed the first schedule of ‘Mental’ – was approached to play the second lead in ‘Bodyguard’, which she later refused.

On the other hand, the actress is also being romantically linked with Salman, who is apparently taking romantic walks with Daisy.

‘Speculation and rumour is nothing new in the industry. Reports might suggest so many things, but the reality is best known only to us,” she added.

Chinese tourists sail to disputed islands: Report.....

Beijing: The first Chinese tour ship to visit disputed South China Sea islands set sail on Sunday, state media reported, a move likely to stoke a long-running territorial row between Beijing and its neighbours.

Plans to allow tourists to visit the Paracel Islands is the latest stage in China's development of the territory, which has previously angered Vietnam and caused concern in Washington. Vietnam and China have a longstanding territorial row over the Paracel Islands. Hanoi last month accused a Chinese vessel of firing on one of its fishing boats which had sailed in disputed waters in the area.

Up to 100 passengers paid a ticket price between 7,000 yuan and 9,000 yuan for the four-day voyage, which is set to become a monthly or twice monthly trip if the maiden trip proves successful, the Global Times said.

Only passengers in "good health, which includes having a normal weight" are permitted on the trip, the newspaper added, in a report which cites the Shanghai Morning Post.

The plan to allow cruise tours follows rapid development of infrastructure in a new city -- Sansha -- along with the establishment of an army garrison in the Paracels last year.

A named commentary in the Global Times defended the decision to allow tourists to visit the islands, which are known as Xisha in China.

"China's Xisha tourism has nothing to do with its neighbouring countries," said Ju Hailong, a research fellow at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies at Jinan University, in the southern city of Guangzhou.

"Those who want to manipulate China's moves to make trouble are not admirers of international law and regional security."

Officials earlier this month confirmed they would open up the Islands to tourism.

China has occupied the Paracels since a brief war with South Vietnam in 1974. It is a cluster of about 40 islets, sandbanks and reefs.

Taiwan, the Philippines, Brunei and Malaysia all have rival claims to parts of the South China Sea, while the United States is also watching Beijing's increased assertiveness.

In his address opening China's parliament last month, former Premier Wen Jiabao said Beijing should "develop the marine economy... And safeguard China's maritime rights and interests".

Cong MPs from Telangana to hold sit-in at Parliament tomorrow.......

Hyderabad: Some Congress MPs from Telangana region, who have been in the forefront of the campaign for separate statehood, would undertake sit-in on the premises of Parliament house on Monday.

Congress Lok Sabha member from Karimnagar Ponnam Prabhakar said MPs from Telangana would observe the sit-in at Gandhi statue in Parliament to highlight their demand.
Telangana Congress MPs have been vocal in raising the separate statehood demand, sometimes causing discomfiture to the party as it is in power in the state.

The Centre had held a meeting of major political parties from Andhra Pradesh earlier this year, but said more consultations were needed to resolve the contentious issue.

Congress should reveal their CM candidate in Karnataka: Narendra Modi.......

Bangalore: Addressing the much awaited poll rally here on Sunday, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi hit out at the Congress party for failing on all fronts and urged the people of Karnataka to vote the BJP back to power in the state.

Lashing out at the Congress Modi said that the country knows too well as to what the grand old part was capable of and so the voters would not make the mistake of handing over the reins of Karnataka to them.

Urging the voters not to trust the Congress he said, “Can anyone make the mistake of liking the Congress? People gave Delhi to them and faced the consequences.”

“I want voters to ask the Congress - every form of government is in Delhi and CBI is also in Delhi. However, is Delhi safe and secure? So how can anyone have faith in the Congress? If they cannot manage Delhi, how can they manage Karnataka,” he asked.

“We have to save the state. Karnataka should not go into the hands of the Congress party,” he added.

Attacking the Congress further Modi said, “It is in the blood of Congress party to go back on what they say. They had promised to reduce price rise but it was not to be. On the contrary price has been rising relentlessly.” Accepting the fact that all was not well as far as the BJP was concerned in Karnataka, the Gujarat Chief Minister said, “We were faced with internal turmoil for the past couple of months. But we did not let that come in the path of progress and development of the state.”

He also praised Karnataka CM saying, “No one could have run the state the way Jagdish Shetter did inspite of the fact that he was faced with so many obstacles.

Modi exhorted the voters to vote the BJP back to power, “Karnataka is going to decide as to what their future is going to be for the next five years. Whoever is bothered about the future of the state will vote for BJP in large numbers.”

“I have as much faith in the voters of Karnataka as I have in the voters of Gujarat. I am sure the people will once again make BJP victorious,” he added.

He rebuked the Congress for not revealing as to who their CM candidate is going to be. “The Congress should at least say as to who their CM will be. Nobody knows as to whose hand it’s going to be,” he said.

Taking a dig at Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi said that if power was ‘poison’ then what was the Congress vice president doing by going around asking people to vote for the Congress in Karnataka.

Opposition leader in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and BJP president Rajnath Singh have already campaigned for the party in the state.

The elections in the state will be held on May 5.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had earlier attacked the BJP government in Karnataka, accusing it of having created "a world record" in corruption.

Addressing a rally here on the second leg of his tour for the May five Assembly polls, he said the BJP talked about corruption at the Centre, but "corruption in the state did not come to their attention."

a sweet-water well that appears mysteriously in the midst of the ocean.......

The walkway to Villondi Teertham, a sweet-water well that appears mysteriously in the midst of the ocean.

Rameshwaram, at the edge of the subcontinent, is many things to many people but wherever you go, legends of Lord Rama prevailThere is not a state in India that does not have a connection to the Ramayana. The scenes from the epic have covered virtually every land in the country. A forest lends a sacred touch, a river has a holy spring, and even the waves of the seas narrate the Lord’s name. Little shrines tell you legends of Rama’s presence. And his footprints are etched in the sands of time.

Following Rama’s footsteps, I land in Rameshwaram, one of the most spiritual and mystical lands in South India, the setting of the legendary epic. This is where Rama and his army built a bridge across the oceans to defeat Ravana. This is also where he returned after a victorious battle and prayed to Lord Shiva to absolve him of any sin accrued during the war.
Every shrine here brings the Ramayana alive. But it is the ocean that fascinates me. The first view that one gets of Rameshwaram is the Pamban Bridge, which fan out across the ocean. Located at the tip of the Indian peninsula in the Gulf of Mannar, Rameshwaram is locked in an island connected to the mainland by the bridge. The waters change colours from emerald to sapphire blue. There is also geological evidence that there might have been a land connection across the sea to Sri Lanka. There is a mild flutter, a gentle vibration, as a few vehicles rush past me, oblivious to the grandeur of nature. I gaze at the sea as the many shades of blue merge with the foam and every wave takes on a different hue. These oceans take me on a trail of the Ramayana, where tanks and temples built on their shores fill you with tales.
It is afternoon and the blue skies look grey and the sea is choppy. The ocean parts ways as the road takes us to a small temple which seems to have been renovated. We climb some steps and look out through the arches at the sea. Another flight of steps takes me to the terrace. It is the highest point in Rameshwaram. I look out to see the sea stretching out in the horizon bordered by greenery and somewhere in the distance is the washed-away town of Dhanushkodi and even beyond that is Sri Lanka. It takes a moment to sink in. This is where I am told Rama surveyed the sea in front of him and his enemy on the other shore. I have followed his footsteps as I am standing in the temple where Rama’s “padam” or footprints are placed on a chakra.
The RamanathaswamyTemple stands tall inside the town as devotees make their way to cleanse themselves with a sacred bath at the 22 wells or teerthams that surround it. Rameshwaram, I am told, has close to 64 theerthams and the holy water is stored in wells, ponds, tanks and one of them, the Agni Theertham, is the sea itself. Even today, it is believed that the tanks around the temple have a perennial source of water.
The temple, which has the longest corridor in the world, stretches as stories from Ramayana are painted on every wall. There are many legends here, but the one that is most often reinforced is how Rama prayed to Lord Shiva to absolve him of any sins committed during the war. Rama asked Hanuman to get him a lingam from the Himalayas but as the monkey god took time, Sita carved a small lingam, which is placed in the sanctum here.

It is not just the temples that tell stories. Every drop of water here has a story to narrate. I journey around the forests to locate some of the temples and wells. On my way to Dhanushkodi I stop in the middle of a dry forest scattered with thorny shrubs. The path cuts through the wilderness and we walk through the trees until we see a board for ‘Jada Theertham’. Surrounded by dense trees is a tank under a peepal tree with a temple close by. A priest tells us that this is where Rama washed his hair (Jada) after he killed Ravana and he had installed a lingam here. Another fascinating legend says that this is where Jatayu, the king of birds, fell after his fight against Ravana.

Legends follow me wherever I go. I am headed to Villondi Teertham, right in the middle of the  ocean. The sea looks pristine blue and the azure waters sparkle in the sunlight. A bridge appears in the middle of nowhere taking me right into the ocean. A small well here is filled with water. You are allowed a sip and the water is absolutely sweet. “This is where Rama pierced his arrow to ensure sweet water flowed to quench Sita’s thirst,” says the caretaker. I am also told that Rama’s bow and arrow are buried here. Hence the name Villondi Teertham.

The Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameshwaram has the world's longest corridor
Rameshwaram is many things to many people, as devotees all over the world visit the Dakshin Kasi. To me however it is the stories from the Ramayana that pervade the landscape here. I sit by the oceans and as the waves lash, I can imagine the army of birds, squirrels, monkeys and bears getting ready to fight the war against Ravana. The sea has many moods and colours here. At some places it looks deceptively calm, luring you with its blue-green shades, but in other places, it purges your mind and body. And as it changes colours yet again, I am completely lost in the world of epics and legends where good prevails over evil.

Law minister won't resign: PM Manmohan Singh

NEW DELHI: He and his government may be under fire, but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today categorically stated that there is no question of Law Minister Ashwani Kumar resigning from the Union Cabinet on the coal blocks allocation issue.

"There is no question of the law minister resigning... the matter is sub judice," the prime minister told reporters on the sidelines of a defence investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan here.

Playing down the demand for his own resignation, the prime minister attacked the opposition for disrupting the parliament over the issue and said the world was laughing at India because of this.

"This is not the first time...in the last nine years how many times the opposition has demanded my resignation. But I would like to appeal to the opposition that they should let the parliament function. By not allowing parliament to function, we are making a mockery of our system of democracy. The whole world is laughing at us."

Parliament was the proper fora for debating all issues, he stressed.

On the Chinese army's incursion into Ladakh, the prime minister said: "We have a plan, we do not want to accentuate the situation."

On Friday, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director Ranjit Sinha admitted to the Supreme Court that Kumar had asked for a copy of its investigation into the coal blocks allocations before it was submitted to the apex court.

Bajaj Auto launches ultra-low-cost car RE 60

Bajaj Auto Ltd recently announced that the company is planning to roll out 5,000 units of its four-seater "quadricycle" codenamed RE-60. Although Bajaj has an in-principle go-ahead from the government, commercial production would happen only after a government-appointed committee submits its report. Powered by a one cylinder petrol engine, the RE-60 is claimed to return a mileage of 35 kmpl. Slotted between a three-wheeler and a car, the RE-60 would create a new segment called ‘quadricycle.’

Nearest alien planet named 'Albertus Alauda'.......

Nearest alien planet named `Albertus Alauda`
New York: The closest known Earth-size alien planet beyond our solar system has a new unofficial name - Albertus Alauda - selected by popular choice in an online contest.

The name won the online people's choice contest organised by space-funding company Uwingu to choose a more exciting, approachable name for the alien planet Alpha Centauri Bb, a scorching-hot world that lies just 4.3 light-years away.

Jay Lark, who nominated "Albertus Alauda," said he chose the exoplanet name to honour his late grandfather. "It is his name in Latin (Albert Lark)," Jay Lark wrote in his submission to the contest.

"My grandfather passed away after a lengthy and valiant battle with cancer; his name in Latin means noble or bright and to praise or extol. I think this is an apt description as my grandfather was a noble man and bright of character, and in this nomination I wish to honour (extol) him," he wrote.

The Alpha Centauri Bb naming contest ran from March 19 through April 22. Proposing a name cost USD 4.99, while voting for one cost USD 0.99.

Uwingu will use the proceeds to fund grants in space exploration, education and research, which is the company's chief purpose, officials said.

"Albertus Alauda" came out on top with 751 votes, while "Rakhat" and "Caleo" came in second and third place, garnering 684 and 622 votes, respectively.

The contest found its way into the headlines two weeks ago, after the International Astronomical Union issued a press release stressing its authority as the sole arbiter of the exoplanet-naming process and reminding readers that it's impossible to buy an "official" name.

While Uwingu wasn't mentioned by name, the release seemed aimed at the Alpha Centauri Bb competition, the website reported.

Stern and other Uwingu officials fought back, saying the company had always maintained that the contest aimed to pick a popular or common name, not an "official" IAU one.

The Alpha Centauri Bb contest, and Uwingu's related "Baby Planet Name Book," are meant to get people excited about science and astronomy while also raising money for research and education, said Stern, who also leads NASA's New Horizons mission, which will fly by Pluto in 2015.

I can be effective with old ball too: Bhuvneshwar.....

I can be effective with old ball too: Bhuvneshwar
Raipur: Talented India seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar wants to change the popular perception that he won`t be as effective with the old ball as much as he is with the new ball.

"It`s true that I have got wickets with the new ball in Test matches but that doesn`t mean that I can`t bowl with the old ball. Even during the Australia Test series, I have bowled a number of overs with the old ball. I have full confidence that I can be equally effective with the old ball too,” Bhuvneshwar told PTI during an exclusive interview.

Bhuvneshwar`s comments came close on the heels of Ishant Sharma`s view that the Uttar Pradesh seamer is good with new ball while he does better with old ball.

The 21-year-old also surprised one and all as he put up a decent performance during the four-Test series against Australia where he got six wickets, including early breakthroughs of the top-order batsmen like David Warner and Shane Watson.

"People forget that I have grown up playing on Indian tracks and have bowled huge number of overs on unresponsive Indian tracks. Therefore, I have a fair idea about what length to bowl on these tracks. Also I was a bit lucky that the conditions suited my style of bowling," Bhuvneshwar elaborated.

The UP youngster feels that Mahendra Singh Dhoni`s calmness has also helped him a lot.
"He is a cool customer. He doesn`t speak a lot but obviously will give you his little inputs. But what I like about him is that he never loses his cool even when the bowler gets hit. He is always encouraging," said `Bhuvi`, as he is affectionately known in the cricketing circles.

During Chris Gayle`s murderous knock of 175 against Pune Warriors, Bhuvneshwar was the only bowler who came out unscathed giving away just 23 runs from his four overs.

"My basic strength is to swing the ball and keep it within the channel of three stumps. Since I have bowled to Gayle earlier, I had done some homework and luckily for me, it worked. I was happy to hit the right area that day," Bhuvneshwar said.

"I am happy with my performance till now in IPL but we (Pune) need to do well collectively to win most of the remaining matches. It is not impossible I believe," he reasoned.

Indian team`s next international assignment is the Champions Trophy in England in June and Bhuvneshwar is expected to play a key role in seaming conditions there.

"There is no pressure on me and I don`t want to think too much about Champions Trophy. Also even the pitches in England can be flat these days," he said.

He is a veteran of 50 first-class matches already and firmly believes that at this level, a coach can`t teach a player much.

"I am grateful to Allan Donald for his guidance and subtle nuances that he taught me. I also learnt a few things from national bowling coach Joe Dawes but at this level these coaches can`t teach you how to bowl. That one does by putting in the hard yards. What the coaches can do is to tell you small things like whether to bowl fuller length at a batsman or try the back of length stuff."

Praveen Kumar`s on and off-the field antics hasn`t got him much appreciation for obvious reasons but for Bhuvneshwar, `PK` was and still remains his idol.

"I have grown up watching him (Praveen) and wanted to be a genuine swing bowler like him. About his temperament and behaviour, I won`t comment but he is a large-hearted fellow, who has always supported me. Those who don`t know him personally can form any opinion about him but that won`t change my opinion," he said.

Aliens posing risk to Irish pilots, say UFO expert......

Aliens posing risk to Irish pilots, say UFO expert
London: Ireland is a hotspot for alien activity and pilots in the country have risked death to avoid spacecraft crashes, UFO experts have claimed.

Carl Nally, founder of UFO and Paranormal Research Ireland, revealed that he has spoken with Irish pilots who have had near misses.

He claimed that they've met several pilots who have come into contact with the UFOs, the Sun reported.

"Most of them say that, as they were coming in to land, they were diverted around this cloud, which had a solid object inside it," the paper quoted him as saying. One aircraft was even damaged.

Nally said that a detective got footage of a triangular-shaped flying object shooting beams into the ground in Dunboyne, Co Meath, on his mobile phone.

Nally and fellow UFO enthusiast Dermot Butler, with whom he founded UPRI in 1998, also reckon the Tuskar Rock air tragedy 45 years ago was caused by aliens.

A total of 61 people died when an Aer Lingus plane mysteriously crashed off the Wexford coast in 1968. The pair has written a book about the incident, called States of Denial.

Conspiracy theorist Nally noted that many strange things are happening all the time out at Dublin Airport.

In the wake of apparent UFO sightings in Cork and Dublin, Nally wants the Government to follow in the footsteps of France, Germany and the UK and release it's X Files' official documents about suspected paranormal activity.

Last week a YouTube video of UFOs seemingly hovering over Cork went viral. The spooky footage shows a string of glowing orbs drifting at dusk last December.

And though sceptics reckon it was just sky lanterns, Nally argued that it could be a case for Mulder and Scully.

Space debris problem now urgent: Scientists.......

Space debris problem now urgent: Scientists
Paris: Governments must start working urgently to remove orbital debris, which could become a catastrophic problem for satellites a few decades from now, a space science conference heard on Thursday.

Since 1978, the total of junk items whizzing around the planet has tripled, said Heiner Klinkrad, head of the European Space Agency's Space Debris Office."There is a wide and strong expert consensus on the pressing need to act now to begin debris removal activities," he said in an ESA press release at the end of a four-day conference in Darmstadt, Germany.

"Our understanding of the growing space debris problem can be compared with our understanding of the need to address Earth's changing climate some 20 years ago," he said.

According to a count by ESA and NASA, there are more than 23,000 items in orbit that are bigger than 10 centimetres (four inches) across, and hundreds of thousands of items between one and 10 cms (0.4 to four inches) across.

Even though these items are relatively small and there is a lot of room in orbit, any collision could be calamitous because of the high level of kinetic energy.

Debris travels on average at 25,000 kilometres (15,600 miles) per hour, so even an object of small mass has the potential to cripple a satellite or punch a hole in the International Space Station (ISS).

The junk results mainly from disused rocket stages, failed launches and abandoned or broken-down satellites, the result of 55 years of space exploration.

These large objects eventually collide, creating more debris which in turn smashes together -- a dangerous cascade cycle known as the Kessler Syndrome.

A major debris field was caused in 2007 when China tested an anti-satellite weapon on an old weather satellite, triggering an international outcry.

At the current rate of rocket launches, the collision risk could eventually rise by a factor of 25.

The Darmstadt conference brought together more than 350 experts from Europe, North America and Asia, including specialists from national space agencies and industry.

They heard proposals aimed at removing the largest chunks of debris out of orbit at the rate of five to 10 items per year.

These pieces could be nudged into a death plunge in the atmosphere by netting or harpooning them from a robot vessel or bombarded by an ion cannon to deflect them onto a new course.

Another idea is to attach a "solar sail" to large items of debris that would be gently driven by the solar wind -- the particles blasted out by the Sun.

We were outplayed for the first time: Virat Kohli........

Mumbai: Handed a heavy defeat by the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli said for the first time this IPL, his team was "outplayed" by the opposition.

"Our bowlers have bowled well in seven games. It is not always going to happen in T20 that you are going to have a perfect performance on the day and I think we didn`t execute our plans as we wanted to," Kohli said after the 58-run loss on Saturday night.

"Mumbai bowlers bowled much better length than our bowlers and that was the difference. We were outplayed in this game, probably first time in this tournament. It is going to happen. It has happened to every team. It is all about regrouping and focusing on the next game," he added.
But Kohli also stressed that every team, no matter how good a form it is in, will have an off day in a long tournament like the IPL.

"In this tournament, every team has collapsed once. Our team is no different. Our players will also get out in one or two matches that we know. But the attempt will be that the top four perform and in the last eight matches we have consistently performed," he emphasised.

"Today, probably Mumbai bowled better. Our batsmen did not as such hit bad shots but they (Mumbai) bowled in right areas, which built the pressure. And they got the result for that.

"All the credit goes to Mumbai bowlers because they bowled better than us. This will happen in cricket. In one match at least it will happen that your top four don`t click. Fortunately in every match someone from the top four has scored runs and we will try to do the same," he explained.

RCB has logged six wins out of the nine games they have played and all of them have come at their home ground Chinnaswamy Stadium. But Kohli said not too much should be read into that stat.

"We will play exactly the way we play at home. The intent has to be positive. We have to be smart. Just one off day and people have already started saying we can`t win away from home," Kohli said.

"But the two games that we lost (at Hyderabad and Chennai) were not thrashes but last ball finishes. Had we executed our plans well, we would have had eight wins out of nine. It is all about one ball or two inches in one game that we lost.

"You can have that tag of one loss or two loss, but we are not bothered about any tags, saying we are over dependent on Chris (Gayle) or we can`t win away from home. Whoever plays good cricket on that day will win," he added.

Asked if the team would make changes in the top order, with Sri Lankan opener Tillakaratne Dilshan not being in the best of form, Kohli said, "We are certainly going to look into it. We wanted to go with the top four batsmen in the top four position but we are going to sort out the combination.

"Somebody like Moises Henriques could be an option going forward because he is handy with the ball, handy with the bat in middle order, which we need as well. And he did well in the few games that he played."

Murali Karthik missed the match due to illness and Kohli hoped that the spinner would recover in time for the next game.

"I hope he is (fit). He is our best Indian spinner. He has a lot of T20 experience. He has been economical in the games that he has played in. Hopefully he will be fine in the next game and we will have his services," he said.

Cong is poison spreading hatred between communities: Modi......

“I will not go until you ask me to go,” said Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi [ Images ] in his inimitable style to a mammoth crowd in Bangalore. “I will speak for sure,” he said but immediately added that the state leaders must speak first. This calmed down the crowds at the Basavangudi National College Grounds which waited to hear the Gujarat chief minister.
"I have come all the way from Ahmedabad [ Images ] to speak to you. I will be here till you ask me to go," Modi, who drew bigger cheers than local leaders like Ananth Kumar and Jagadish Shettar [ Images], said.
When Ananth Kumar took the mike, the crowd began to shout, "bring Modi." This forced Modi to come forward and request the crowd to let the local leaders speak.
Modi took a dig at the Congress and said that everyone had been asking who their chief ministerial candidate was. "Enough of showing us the hand (Congress symbol), show us the face."
Speaking about the problems of the Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] in Karnataka, Modi asked, "Who does not face problems. In Gujarat the BJP faced so many problems in 1995. By the time of the next elections, the media had written us off. But the people of Gujarat voted for us. We realised we had made a mistake in 1995. But when we got the mandate again we set our house in order and swore never to make a mistake.”
“However, we never forgot one thing, and that is development. Look at Guajarat today. In Karnataka, the BJP faced the same problem, but they never compromised on development. Give us another chance in Karnataka," Modi said.
“Is Delhi [ Images ] safe? There is a big government there run by the Congress. They cannot keep Delhi safe. Can they keep Karnataka safe? Do you want to make the mistake of bringing them to power? The Congress only promises. Did they bring down inflation as they promised?” questioned Modi.

“The Indian society never disregards the words of a mother. But there is one mother who says, ‘power is poison’. But what does the son do? He comes to Karnataka and screams, ‘give us power’," Modi said without naming Sonia and Rahul Gandhi [ Images ].
“The Congress is poison which has spread hatred between communities. The Congress is the real poison,” he said.
“Why is the Congress silent on development and a host of other issues? Is there an Italian lock on the mouth of the Congress? I challenge the Congress to compete with any BJP government in the country,” said Modi.
Modi repeatedly asked the crowd if they wanted to bring leaders from the Congress who were born with a golden spoon. “They act bigger than the nation, they lie to you. They ran a smear campaign against me in Gujarat. They are doing the same against the BJP in Karnataka. They will fail in their efforts. More the Congress rules, the more the nation suffers, Modi said

“Take the Italian marine case for instance. Italy [ Images ] is such a small country and they had the audacity to tell us that they won't send back the marines. Had the Supreme Court not interfered, the UPA led by the Congress would have done nothing. What about the beheading of our soldiers at the Line of Control [ Images ]? Did the Congress act? No they gave the Pakistan Prime Minister chicken biriyani for dinner,” he said

“We have had an external affairs minister of the Congress from Karnataka. What does he do? He reads the speech of another country. The Congress speaks about corruption in Karnataka. Do you known how many zeroes are there in the 2G scam? Alright, I will give you some work - start by writing at 7 Race course road and by the time you complete the zeroes you will reach 10 Janpath,” remarked Modi.
Seeking a mandate for Karnataka CM Jagadish Shettar, Modi said he was a great leader and believes in development. “People all over are in awe of his achievements. I am proud I am a part of a party Shettar represents. I want the blessings of the people of Karnataka. Prove every political pundit wrong who says the BJP will lose. Send the Congress into exile from Karnataka and do not let them loot your treasury,” added Modi.

Samsung Galaxy S4 to be manufactured in India........

New Delhi: Samsung India on Sunday said it will soon start manufacturing its flagship high-end smartphone Galaxy S4 in India.

"We are planning to start manufacturing of S4 soon at our Noida facility," Samsung Mobile and Digital Imaging Country Head Vineet Taneja said.

He, however, refused to share any time frame by when the production will start. The Noida facility is manufacturing about 35-40 million phones annually, including 12 Smartphone such as Galaxy S3.

The company currently imports the recently launched Galaxy S4 from South Korea.

Sensing huge demand for Galaxy S4, the company is also looking to double up the high-end Smartphone (above Rs 20,000) market size in India, which is currently contributing around 10-12 percent of the overall Smartphone market.

The Galaxy S4, which is packed with newer imaging features as well as 'gesture-control' technology, has a five-inch full HD super AMOLED touchscreen, 13 mega pixel rear and 2 mega pixel front camera and supports 3G networks.

Although Samsung is the market leader in smartphone market in India, competition from Apple, BlackBerry and Nokia has put pressure on it to add new software features to maintain its lead.

According to research firm IDC, the overall mobile phone market in India reached about 218 million units in 2012, growing 16 percent year-on-year.

Of this, 16.3 million units were smartphones, but the category saw a growth of about 48 percent. Samsung was the leader in the quadcore and 5-inch plus screen size models, IDC added.

The demand for smartphones is expected to be around 34-36 million units this year.

Globally, Samsung had 30.3 percent share of the smartphone market (with sales of 215.8 million units) in 2012, while Apple had a 19.1 percent share with sales of 135.9 million units, according to IDC.
