Murali Kartik leaps to take the catch that dismissed Shane Watson, Royal Challengers Bangalore v Rajasthan Royals, IPL 2013, Bangalore, April 20, 2013
On high-scoring grounds, Rajasthan Royals depend a lot on Shane Watson, and as he has been doing with Australia in their unfortunate run, Watson let Royals down too. From the moment Watson was caught superbly by Murali Kartik for six off 9, Royals limped through their innings for an inadequate 117. Royal Challengers Bangalore threatened the fashionable, inexplicable collapse, but a restrained Chris Gayle took them through with more than two overs to spare.
R Vinay Kumar operated intelligently against the middle order lacking in firepower, and his strikes kept pegging Royals back. The big wicket of Watson, though, went to Ravi Rampaul. Watson had begun with a four first ball, but was getting uneasy with his inability to find gaps at the top of the innings. In the third over, he tried to bludgeon one, but Murali Kartik took a smart overhead catch at mid-off.
Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane couldn't hit out, and Rahane was consumed by that pressure. Stuart Binny hit a few lusty ones, eventually took the run-rate past a run a ball, in the ninth over, but was bounced out by Karnataka team-mate Vinay in the next over. Dravid, given a rousing welcome by the "home" crowd, struggled so much that his strike-rate reached 100 only in the 14th over. He had faced 27 balls by then.
The pressure of all those dots was all consuming. Dravid holed out to long-on. Brad Hodge fell to Vinay trying to run one down. RP Singh then had a good time with the lower order, and picked up three for himself.
Unscarred Royal Challengers - with Gayle, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers their top four - would have blasted their way through this target and boosted their net run rate. This side, though, has been turning regulation matches into thrillers of late, and didn't eliminate drama despite a 53-run opening stand in 6.4 overs.
Watson, bowling for the first time in 2013, delayed the finish with the wickets of Dilshan and de Villiers. Kohli fell to James Faulkner in between. At 64 for 3 after nine overs, Gayle put his head down, and in the company of Saurabh Tiwary, who was playing his first match of the season, chose the middle path between a lightning chase and a dramatic one despite all the we-want-six chants from the crowd. He did give them what they wanted, but only after scores were level, raising his arms to seemingly tell the crowd he can hit them but chose not to. It was good enough to put their team joint-top on the table with a game in hand.

Steve Jobs,Dennis Ritchie-:Respect For Both:....

✔ Without Steve Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011) we would have:
• No iProducts.
• No over expensive laptops.

✔ Without Dennis Ritchie (September 9, 1

• No Windows.
• No Unix.
• No C.
• No Programs.
• A large setback in computing.
• No Generic-text Languages.
• We would all read in Binary.

✔ They died in the same year and the same month but it seems only few notice the death of Dennis Ritchie compared to Steve Jobs.

Both are amazing .... people should be knowing of both.

Did you see wat happened during MSD'S Runout?..........

MSD would have tried his best to get back to crease... He might have saved his wicket if he tried.. But Morgan who was the fielder throwing the ball towards stumps laid on the way of DHONI... After knowing that DHONI was trying to get back in hurry, Morgan closed his eyes as he was trying to escape from Dhoni hitting him... MSD's bat went close to Morgan's face.. Morgan turned his face to opposite side by covering his head by hand.. but MSD gave up his try..in order to avoid his Bat Hitting Morgan's Head... Morgan after he realised, got up and smiled about Greatness of Dhoni during that tight Situation...

The Last Innings of a Gentleman's Illustrious Career.............

Dravid will always name every single contributor missing out on himself, says the author.
Ed Smith once wrote of Rahul Dravid, "In years to come, perhaps too late, we may realise what we have lost: the civility, craft and dignity that Dravid brought to every cricket match in which he played." This was right after Dravid pulled the curtains on a stupendous cricketing career that saw him become the game's most prolific No.3. An out and out gentleman, most felt Dravid would never fit the bill when it comes to One Day Internationals. He proved everyone wrong by amassing more than 10000 ODI runs, to go with the distinction of donning gloves in their epic Natwest Trophy win followed by the 2003 World Cup campaign where India made it to the finals. If Dravid had to perform rain-dance on the ground to help his team win, he wouldn't have flinched a moment before attempting it, such was his dedication and commitment. The craft, civility and dignity are still intact as we see him play one last innings of competitive cricket. Leading Rajasthan is no less a pain for a man who was cut out for the most adverse of challenges. Dravid has to lead a team of limited resources, but he has done it with style and panache.

Quarter of the way, Rajasthan find themselves on top of the pile. Tough games are waiting for them but if their showing against Mumbai is anything to go by, they are in red hot form. He is a man who had lost out to his more flamboyant colleagues, all through his career, much like the strength of a wall fades into the background to highlight a colourful graffiti. But the 40 year old, is still a vital cog in the Rajasthan outfit, delivering with the bat as much as he is with his thinking cap, not to mention the safe hands that continue to pursue the touch of leather in spite of the wear and tear over the years. Dravid's scores this season read 65(51), 17(20), 54(48) and 9(12). Two half centuries in four outings isn't bad returns by any stretch of imagination, considering players drawing a pay-cheque four times as big as his, are warming the bench. Shaun Tait, one of their star foreign players, backs Dravid to take the opening slot, where he has scored more than 800 runs already. Dravid though continues to be flexible taking No.3 to help build a base whenever required. The two half centuries were typical Dravid master-pieces, as he continues to show youngsters the way. One of them came in a losing cause; nevertheless the quality of the strokes still has his class etched on them. He has even managed to send the ball out of the park a few times this season; he is a man who can adapt, who has always adapted if convinced it was the best thing for his team.

As a captain, Dravid has pulled one rabbit after another, the right ruse paying the right dues. Kevon Cooper has been his go-to man, winning him two tight matches, including one against defending champions, Kolkata. Against Mumbai, he dropped himself down the order to make sure the tempo was kept up. Pointed out by many naysayers as 'shying away', Dravid's tactic won the match for him, after Mumbai were set a target that seemed out of reach right from the first delivery. His decision to open with two spinners was a master-stroke, pegging Mumbai back from the very first over. Ever the person to dole out credit to others, the self-deprecating gentleman calls his match-winning knock against Delhi lucky while asserting that other teams wouldn't like playing them owing to his team's competitive and fighting spirit. Chandila's apt remarks summarise the status Dravid holds in the team. "Rahul Dravid sir is like God for me. He just placed his hands on my head before the first over and said, 'Ajit, you will bowl well. Just be confident when you are bowling and the rest will take care of itself.' Those words were in my head as I went to bowl," he said after his match-winning strikes against Mumbai.

It is very hard to dislike Dravid even in T20 where he was meant to look out of place. The purity of the man just doesn't come out as well in gaudy blue. Yet, he is making a mark, leading a team of young Indians, who will surely come out the richer for experience. He doesn't mince words, even now, pointing out that sporting pitches are better for cricket compared to 180-190 tracks. He admits to having his heart-beat go up, even now, even after facing epic clashes at world stage against the world's best teams. The team man that he is, he will always name every single contributor missing out on himself. He points out that demoting himself isn't a big deal and that if a wicket fell early, he would have walked out. That statement right there is the hallmark of a great cricketer, the man who avoids limelight, the blitz of boundary hits on a good batting strip but is ready to walk out in a crisis. Rahul Dravid hasn't changed much over the years and to quote a popular dialogue from Dil Chahtha hai, "It is hard to improve upon perfection."

Wasim urges Pakistani bowlers to be aggressive...........

Legendary Pakistan paceman Wasim Akram, pictured in Karachi on January 12, 2007, has urged the country's top fast bowlers to be aggressive and adapt to new rule changes in order to excel at the international level.
Legendary Pakistan paceman Wasim Akram on Saturday urged the country's top fast bowlers to be aggressive and adapt to new rule changes in order to excel at the international level.

The 46-year-old, regarded as one of the best left-arm paceman ever to play the game, is holding a ten-day training camp for top 20 fast bowlers in the country ahead of the eight-nation Champions Trophy in June in England.

Wasim said the change in rules in one-day cricket which allow only four fielders outside the inner circle throughout the 50-overs, were tough for bowlers.

"You need to be aggressive and learn how to adapt to these rule changes," Wasim told reporters. "Pakistani bowlers have a lot of talent but they need to learn and adapt to the demands of international cricket."

Pakistan's new sensation Mohammad Irfan, who is the tallest to play international cricket at 7 feet one inch, is the star attraction of the training camp.

Wasim said Irfan needs special care because of his height.

"Irfan is a special talent, but because of his height he needs to be handled carefully," said Wasim of Irfan, who was Pakistan's best bowler with 11 wickets in the one-day series in South Africa last month.

Wasim along with pace partner Waqar Younis was one of several fast bowlers who learnt the art under the legendary Imran Khan in mid 1980s. He took 414 Test and 502 one-day wickets during an illustrious career.

Wasim dispelled the impression that Pakistan was lacking in quality fast bowlers.

"I don't think it's a serious concern. The talent is definitely there but these kids need experience and must learn to adapt to the demands of international cricket where they are found wanting," said Wasim.

"The grounds in South Africa are green but need certain strategy to bowl, so until and unless they learn it they will not be able to turn their potential into performances," said Wasim.

Wasim said he will try to inculcate the best attributes into the next generation of fast bowlers.

"I am not a magician, but I will try my level best to help them in phases and hope that the same training camp is staged after a break of three to four months," said Wasim.

Wasim will also guide the fast bowlers in national team's tune-up camp in northern city of Abbottabad next month before guiding them during the Champions Trophy from June 6-23.

Wasim said Champions Trophy will be a test for Pakistan.

"It's a big event and involves a match against India which will be a cracker," Wasim said about Pakistan's match against India in Birmingham on June 15.

Pakistan also plays the West Indies on June 8 and South Africa two days later.

Chennai to be dropped as play-off venues?.........

Kolkata would not even dream of going without Sunil Narine if they make it to the play-offs.
The Indian T20 League Governing Council is likely to shift the Qualifier and Eliminator matches from Chennai in order to allow respective teams with Sri Lankan players, freedom to choose their best playing eleven.

The members of the governing council will be meeting in Chennai on Monday to decide the fate of the first Qualifier at the Chepauk on May 21 and the Eliminator on the following day.

"The final decision will be taken at the Governing Council meeting in Chennai on April 22," T20-League chairman Rajeev Shukla told PTI today.

The Tamil Nadu government had barred Sri Lankan players or match officials to play or officiate in Chennai in the wake of the anti-Sinhalese sentiments prevailing in the state. The Governing Council had then decided to go ahead with the matches in Chepauk but without Sri Lankan players.

However, it has been learned that the franchises were not too happy with the decision but considering the logistical nightmare it would have posed to redraw the schedule with a new venue, they decided to co-operate.

The franchises want the Governing Council to review the decision for these two matches, arguing that these games were crucial and it would unfair on them if they could not be in a position to field their best team.

"In the league stages, a bit of compromise is always possible. But tell me why would Hyderabad agree to drop a guy like Thisara Perera if they qualify for the knock-outs or why would Mumbai even think of leaving out Lasith Malinga in such a do-or-die match," a BCCI official in the know of things commented.

We made schoolnboy mistakes: Gambhir.........

Gambhir and Yusuf walked out to open but could not prevent a dramatic collapse at the Eden Gardens.
Kolkata had got off to a flier and were sailing along at 46/0 at one stage before Gambhir's dismissal triggered a collapse that saw the defending champions lurch their way to a meager 119/9 off their 20 overs.

Gambhir said the batsmen need to pull up their socks after some poor performances over the last few games.

"Our batsmen have been committing schoolboy errors. In fact, we have been batting badly since the last few games. It is high time the batsmen pulled up their socks and performed," Gambhir said after his team's four-wicket loss.

The southpaw opening batsman however praised his bowlers for running Chennai close but appeared frustrated with yet another batting collapse.

"We have not been up to the mark. We have not been performing well as a team, it's time for us to pull up the socks," added Gambhir.

Kolkata coach Trevor Bayliss was not very impressed with the way his wards batted either and reckoned that the side had finished about 20 runs short of what could have been a good target for the bowlers to defend.

At one point of time we were thinking of a 160 target. Had we batted sensibly we could have easily reached that or may be more. The run outs did not help. We were 20 runs short," said Bayliss at the post match media conference.

"We did not bat well. Even in the last few games we bowled and fielded well but did not bat well. It is time we transformed the confidence that we have in our bowling and fielding into our batting," said the coach.

Sir Viv Richards joins Delhi as advisor..........

The beleaguered Delhi outfit on Saturday a got a pep talk from legendary Sir Vivian Richards as the legendary West Indian batsman joined the franchise in the role of an ambassador as well as advisor.

"I am looking forward to working with the Delhi this season," Richards said after his maiden interaction with the team which has lost six straight matches.

"I know the team has many players of proven quality and others who have immense talent and hunger to succeed at this level and higher. It will be a great experience for me to be their sounding board and inspire them to deliver quality performances."

GMR Sports chairman Kiran K Grandhi said the decision to rope in Sir Viv was in keeping with the policy to give the squad the best support it can possibly get.

"As owners of the Delhi team, we have always got together the best support staff. I'm sure our fans will also be very excited that Sir Viv is with the squad."

"There are a number of youngsters in the squad who can make the most of the opportunity to interact with Viv and evolve as cricketers. He was keen to be with the team at the start of the season but he had prior commitments and could join us only now," Mentor TA Sekar stated.

RAVI COMPLEMENT ON CSK......

Arjun: "Gambhir calls this a beautiful wicket. #sigh" When you play spin so well ...
They brought it up to 50 off the final five, and found someone to do the job, yet again. And won with five balls to spare, Chennai Super Kings, the IPL rockstars
With this attack and this pitch, KKR shouldn't be losing any home game, but their batting woes are blunting the first two factors.
Narine gets the purple cap. Says 20 more runs would have helped
sundar: "I think CSK finds it insulting to chase down 6 an over. They deliberately jack up the RRR to 10 an over before they start the chase.."
Josh: "CSK owe this victory to Jadeja. 3 wickets in the KKR innings to prevent any rebuilding then this blistering riposte to see them over the line! MoM for me.."
Ravi: "If there is one team that can win even after reversing the batting order, it is CSK."

CSK ROCKS......

Jadeja is Man of the Match. Jadeja: "It was crucial for us to win this game. There was not enough time to think when I went in, I decided to see it and hit it. I tried to bowl slower in the air, which worked. I played few good shots for my team."
MS Dhoni: "We did not bat well, it is one area where we would like to be more consistent. They batted brilliantly first six overs, few wickets and run-outs brought us back. Bringing the spinners late helped us to rotate. People think it is a T20 game, you have to slog everything, it is not like that. There are two types of batsmen, one who don't think and go after everything, and others who plan and target bowlers. We want him [Jadeja] to be really comfortable in the dressing room. He is loving the part where we are calling him Sir, but it is the one from Hindi [meaning head] and not from English. I don't think he knows that."
Gautam Gambhir: "Some schoolboy errors to be honest. When you bat first, you cannot be 46 for 1 and then 91 for 8. The pitch gets better under lights. Both Senanayake and Narine did a fantastic job by taking it till the last over. We have not been professional enough and not been upto the mark. You cannot expect your bowlers to defend 119 on such a beautiful wicket."

amazing.......

Narendra Modi vs Rahul Gandhi a no-contest in Karnataka............

Narendra Modi vs Rahul Gandhi a no-contest in Karnataka
While Rahul Gandhi who has a packed campaign schedule in Karnataka, Modi is showing no signs of campaigning aggressively.
BANGALORE: The hoopla around Narendra Modi versus Rahul Gandhi contest, abbreviated to a crisp 'NaMo-RaGa face-off' weeks before the Karnataka elections, is fizzling out. For, unlikeCongress general secretary Rahul Gandhi who has a packed campaign schedule in the state, the BJP's top draw Modi is showing no signs of campaigning aggressively.

Modi has just cemented a place for himself in the BJP's national team and the Karnataka elections will be his first test on a stage outside Gujarat. However, there is also pronounced anti-incumbency working against the saffron party, which has made Modi cautious about pitching himself to the forefront. While this has dispirited the state BJP somewhat, real politik has scored for now: Modi doesn't want to mess up his PM chances and knows he can't help the party in Karnataka.

"Modi has adopted a cautious approach since the battle is being projected as Modi vs Rahul in Karnataka. He feels a negative result will affect his prospects of becoming the PM," said a senior BJP functionary. As a matter fact, Modi had decided not to campaign in Karnataka at all until he was prevailed upon to address a few rallies lest he be described as a "coward".

Political analyst Sandeep Shastri said, "Undoubtedly, Modi will not actively participate in the campaign since he's aware that he could end up on the losing side." For the same reason, he said, Modi did not participate in the Uttar Pradesh campaign in 2012 as well. He knew BJP stood no chance there. But, Shastri said, Karnataka will see a lot of Modi in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, in a bid to appear hard against terror after Wednesday's blast in Bangalore, BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said his party would come up with a strong anti-terrorism law if elected in 2014. "The party's first effort would be to bring in a strong anti-terrorism law like Pota (Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2002)," Naqvi told reporters.

Ironically, BJP chief ministers expressed opposition to UPA's proposed anti-terrorism body NCTC (National Centre for Counter Terrorism) because it "interferes" with state's authority.

Naqvi said the BJP will launch its campaign in the state for the May 5 elections on April 21 when senior leaders LK Advani, party president Rajnath SinghSushma SwarajArun JaitleyVenkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar will participate. The party president will campaign for six days, while Swaraj will campaign for approximately four days, Naqvi said. It isn't clear when or where Modi will campaign.

No specific input on threat to Narendra Modi: Shinde.........

NEW DELHI: Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde  denied having received any specific input on threat to Gujarat CM Narendra Modi.

Shinde said, "I don't have any specific information about it. If there is any leader who is on target, we alert the leader and the state concerned. If there is any information, we pass it on. So far no information of this kind has been received on Modi".

He was responding to a question whether the home ministry had any input on threat to the Gujarat CM as tweeted by social activist Madhu Kishwar about threat to the BJP leader's life.

After Gujarat, Narendra Modi's 3D avatar for rest of India........

After Gujarat, Narendra Modi's 3D avatar for rest of India
After using 3D holographic projection during the Gujarat assembly elections last year, Modi plans to ride on the technology to reach out to a national audience
GANDHINAGAR: While NDA allies may still debate whether Narendra Modi is fit to be the alliance's prime ministerial nominee, the Gujaratchief minister is making all preparations to make his presence felt across the country in the run-up to 2014 polls.

After using 3D holographic projection during the Gujarat assembly elections last year, Modi plans to ride on the technology to reach out to a national audience.

The CM's IT team is ready to roll with Modi projections being planned in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in the next two months. The show will be taken to other states in a phased manner.

During the state polls, Modi addressed about 200 public meetings using the technology, which cost $10 million, as he tried to reach out to voters simultaneously in various constituencies. Besides multiplying the projection, it also minimises security threat.

"The content of the 3D broadcast will be different this time. It will be done from an Ahmedabad studio. Several teething problems faced during the assembly polls have been sorted out. The scale of the national 3D campaign will be much bigger," said a source close to the project.

While the finer details of the 3D show are still being worked out, Modi's team is also busy giving a new identity to 'NaMo Gujarat', a cable television channel launched ahead of the state polls. The channel will operate on a bigger scale and will be reoriented to cater to the national audience.

Modi's 3D campaign got a mention in the Guinness Book World Records for the most simultaneous broadcasts -53 locations across Gujarat on December 10, 2012.

Jayalalitha grants Rs 29 for World Championships.........

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha on Friday granted Rs 29 lakh for conducting the World Championship after an MOU was signed between All India Chess Federation and FIDE.

AICF secretary Bharat Singh Chauhan and FIDE vice-presidents Israel Gelfer and DV Sundar were present when the MOU was signed.

World Champion Viswanathan Anand and Norway's Magnus Carlsson would be playing the championship in November this year.

Also present on the occasion was Tamil Nadu Chess Association (TNCA) secretary Hariharan.

"It will be a fascinating contest and the best world championship match conducted anywhere else before," Gelfer said.

He said the arbiters for the match would be decided in a month's time.

"The event to be held in Chennai would surpass the expectations of all concerned and be the best ever event so far."

Gelfer said that he had inspected various venues for the match and had examined the Trade Centre and a few five-star hotels in the city.

"We will chose the best venue which will be to the liking of not just the two players involved but also the international media, which will be turning up for the match and others involved on both sides."

Gelfer clarified that once FIDE announces the venue officially, no player would be allowed to refuse the venue.

Strong quake hits China; 102 dead, more than 2,200 injured.......

BEIJING: A strong 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit a remote, mostly rural and mountainous area of southwestern China's Sichuan province on Saturday, killing at least 102 people and injuring about 2,200 close to where a big quake killed almost 70,000 people in 2008.
The earthquake occurred at 8.02 am (0002 GMT) in Lushan county near Ya'an city and the epicentre had a depth of 12 km (7.5 miles), the US Geological Survey said.
The quake was felt by residents in neighbouring provinces and in the provincial capital of Chengdu, causing many people to rush out of buildings, according to accounts on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo microblogging service.
State television said 102 people had been confirmed dead with more than 2,200 injured, 147 of them seriously.
President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang said all efforts must be put into rescuing victims to limit the death toll.
Li arrived in Chengdu and was on his way to the disaster zone by helicopter, state media said.
"The current most urgent issue is grasping the first 24 hours since the quake's occurrence, the golden time for saving lives," Xinhua news agency quoted Li as saying.
Xinhua said 6,000 troops were heading to the area to help with rescue efforts. State television CCTV said only emergency vehicles were being allowed into Ya'an, though Chengdu airport had reopened.
Most of the deaths were concentrated in Lushan, where water and electricity were cut off. Pictures on Chinese news sites showed toppled buildings and people in bloodied bandages being treated in tents outside the hospital, which appeared only lightly damaged.
Rescuers in Lushan had pulled 32 survivors out of rubble, Xinhua said. In villages closest to the epicentre, almost all low rise houses and buildings had collapsed, according to footage broadcast on state television.
"We are very busy right now, there are about eight or nine injured people, the doctors are handling the cases," said a doctor at a Ya'an hospital who gave her family name as Liu.
The hospital was seeing head and leg injuries, she added.
"SHAKES AND TREMORS"
A resident in Chengdu, 140 km (85 miles) from Ya'an city, told Xinhua he was on the 13th floor of a building when he felt the quake. The building shook for about 20 seconds and he saw tiles fall from nearby buildings.
Ya'an is a city of 1.5 million people and is considered one of the birthplaces of Chinese tea culture. It is also the home to one of China's main centres for protecting the giant panda.
"There are still shakes and tremors and our area is safe. The pandas are safe," said a spokesman with Ya'an's Bifengxia nature park, a tourism park that houses more than 100 pandas.
Shouts and screams were heard in the background while Reuters was on the telephone with the spokesman.
"There was just an aftershock, an aftershock, our office is safe," he said.
Numerous aftershocks jolted the area, the largest of which was magnitude 5.1.
Sichuan is one of the four major natural-gas-producing provinces in China, and its output accounts for about 14 percent of the nation's total.
Sinopec Group, Asia's largest oil refiner, said its huge Puguang gas field was unaffected.
The U.S. Geological Survey initially put the magnitude at 7, but later revised it down.
The devastating May 2008 quake was 7.9 magnitude.

We're very much still the underdogs: Cameron White........

HYDERABAD: Sunrisers Hyderabad might be currently holding the top spot in the points table in the sixth edition of the IPL but captainCameron White feels his team is still the underdog.

"Definitely, we are very much still the underdogs. I think there are some big teams out there who are playing really well. We are fighting very hard in every game against any opposition. We definitely don't see ourselves as favourites. We are fighting hard to keep winning," White told reporters in the post match press conference here.

"Mumbai (Indians), RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Rajasthan (Royals) are playing fantastic. KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) are the favourites. We are happy to be playing well at the moment," he added.

A clinical Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kings XI Punjab comfortably by five wickets last night to register their fifth win in the Pepsi India Premier League and move to the top of the points table with 10 points from seven matches.

Asked about Sunrisers being at the top of the table at the moment, a modest White said: "We played the most games too.

"It is a good position to be in. We understand, we got to improve to win four or five more games to qualify for the semifinals. Our bowling and fielding is going well, but our batting still needs to improve a bit," he insisted.

Heaping praise on G H Vihari, White said: "He (Vihari) played very nicely today for us. He played couple of important innings. Today, it is his best innings. He was nice and positive. He set the run chase up."

"It is a good team effort that has enabled the Sunrisers to move ahead in the competition. Everyone is bowling well at the moment. Karan Sharma has done a great job. Dale Steyn and Ishant, Thisara are doing a great job. It is a good team effort at the moment, especially in the bowling."

Though White admitted it would be tough to take on Chennai Super Kings in their home conditions on April 25, he said the Sunrisers looked forward to the challenge.

Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist said his team losing four wickets off four balls in two overs was the turning point of the match.

"We were trying to get 140. We did not get there. It's a wicket that wasn't overly consistent. It was not a shocking wicket by any stretch. It was a challenging wicket to bat. We were well positioned to get ourselves to 140.

"Four wickets in five balls. May be four in six balls. It was chaos. That was the turning point," he said.

Asked to describe his 26-run innings off 25 balls including four boundaries, Gilchrist said, "It is a challenge when you are not playing consistently. I am playing IPL 6, considering I retired before IPL I. It has been a magic to be a part of it for sure."

He further added it was a positive sign and expressed confidence of doing well in the rest of the tournament.

It's good to know that I am in Dickie's team: Sunil Gavaskar...........

NEW DELHI: Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar is happy to be a part of Dickie Bird's all-time Test XI even as some former cricketers called the ex-English umpire's composition as "biased" and "ill-balanced".

"Dickie has been one of the most respected and popular umpires in the game, so it's good to know that I am in his team," Gavaskar said.

The cricket fraternity in India expressed shock at the omission of legends like Sachin Tendulkarand Don Bradman in the all-time Test eleven named by Bird.

Besides the omission of Tendulkar and Bradman, Bird's team did not have greats like Brian LaraRicky Ponting as well as the West Indian fast bowlers Malcolm MarshallAndy RobertsJoel Garner and Michael Holding.

Others in the team, named by Bird in an interview with Londonnewspaper 'The Telegraph' ahead of his 80th birthday today, are Imran KhanBarry Richards, Vivian Richards, Greg Chappell, Graeme Pollock, Gary Sobers, Alan Knott, Shane WarneDennis Lillee andLance Gibbs.
