Chinese helicopters violated Indian airspace: Reports.....

New Delhi/Srinagar: Even as the Armies of India and China on Tuesday held a second flag meeting over the recent PLA incursion into Ladakh, it has come to light that Chinese helicopters had also violated the Indian air space.

As per reports, choppers belonging to the Chinese Army entered the Indian air space, hovered for a while and then flew back
The incident happened on April 15 – the day when a platoon of Chinese troops intruded 10 kilometres deep inside Indian territory in Ladakh and set up a tented post in Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sector.

The airspace violation is also reported to have taken place at Depsang in DBO sector.

India has already raised the issue with China and held two flag meetings.

China has denied that its troops intruded into the Indian territory.Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying said yesterday that "China's frontier troops have been abiding by the agreement between the two countries and abiding by the LAC agreed by the two countries.

"Our frontier troops have been patrolling on the China's side of LAC," Hua had said, adding, "Our troops are patrolling on the Chinese side of the LAC and have never trespassed the line".

Defence Minister A K Antony had said yesterday that India will take "every step" to protect its interests to resolve the situation arising out of the incursion.

India tells China to pull back troops from Ladakh
New Delhi: India on Tuesday asked China to maintain status quo at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) prior to the intrusion into Ladakh on April 15.

Syed Akbaruddin, spokesperson at the Ministry of External Affairs, told a press briefing today that the second flag meeting between the two Armies was still underway and that the government hopes to resolve the matter peacefully. "Similar incidents in the past have been resolved peacefully," Akbaruddin said. He was referring to the intrusion by a platoon of Chinese troops 10 kilometres inside the Indian territory in Ladakh's Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sector.

The Chinese soldiers are still camping there and India has moved more troops to the region amid escalating tensions.

The MEA spokesperson rejected China's denial that its troops had camped deep inside the Indian territory. The spokesperson however sought to downplay the incident, calling it localised. There are differing perceptions about the alignment of the LAC, he added.

Reports today said that on April 15, not just Chinese troops had intruded into the Indian territory but Chinese helicopters also violated the Indian airspace in the same area.

The Warriors picked Mitchell Marsh, a medium-pace bowling all rounder in place of Ajantha Mendis, and brought in left-arm spinner Ali Murtaza for legspinner Rahul Sharma.

They chose to play seamer Ishwar Pandey, the leading wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy this season, in place of all-rounder Abhishek Nayar.

Don't waste time searching for Aus vice-captain........

Australian cricket supporters shouldn't grumble. After all, their beloved national team has won four ODI world cups and were the undisputed Test best from 1995-2008, which included two record streaks of 16 consecutive wins.

Of course, familiarity breeds contempt, meaning a generation of Australian fans demand continued excellence and stellar performance even when lofty expectation is delusional for a team overflowing with mediocrity and bereft of leadership.

Australia has been treading water since Warne and McGrath stopped bewildering international batsmen in early 2007. Comprehensive Test series victories against inept touring sides masked the deficiencies.

Australia's frailties were brutally exposed during their humiliating Indian whitewash, causing widespread panic during a back-to-back Ashes year - essentially a 10-match championship for Australian and English supporters.

Lots of grumbling ensued.

With media and public finally shaking off their delusions, a bevy of agitated questions have been reverberating in the land down under - Where are our precious batsmen? Why are the quicks so fragile? Surely, we have better spin options than Xavier Doherty? Why do we have a dearth of leadership? What happens if Michael Clarke's (gulp) bothersome back aches?

It is the last two curly questions that are most worrying from an Australian perspective. Australia has had a precession of revered leaders dating back to Allan Border's reign in the mid-'80s. Their great teams of the '90s and '00s were overbrimming with players possessing innate leadership qualities.

Clarke has been a one-man band for Australian with bat and leadership. The latter was evident when Clarke succumbed to his back bane to miss the final Test in India and was replaced as skipper by (gulp) Shane Watson, who hadn't scored a Test century in two years and was engulfed in the team's embarrassing 'homework' scandal.

Champagnes were popping around Australia when it was revealed that Watson had relinquished his vice captaincy role in all formats. Watson's penchant for juvenile tantrums and his narcissist perception made him derided by even his compatriots.

An outsider could sense the uneasy relationship between captain and deputy, and it was clear that the leadership marriage was on the verge of a nasty breakup. It was time Australia unearthed a Clarke protege.

But who? The leadership cupboard is bare. David Warner is likely to get the nod and appears a suitable candidate in the coloured formats but his inconsistencies in the Test arena and his penchant to become Australia's on-field 'enforcer', akin to Matthew Hayden, has affected his concentration and reinforces his immaturity.

T20 skipper George Bailey oozes with leadership nous and has traits reminiscent of Steve Waugh, but he has yet to play a Test and had an abysmal Sheffield Shield season for Tasmania. I'm an unabashed Bailey believer and hope he makes the journey to England but there is a distinct possibility that he doesn't possess the class to succeed in the gruelling Test arena.

Matthew Wade is too inexperienced. Ditto, Phil Hughes. Bowlers are rubber stamped as non-captaincy material when presented with a Baggygreen. So, rule a line through Peter Siddle.

Ed Cowan has the persona of spending a Friday night ensconced with Charles Dickens instead of Jack Daniels. Which doesn't perturb me personally, but unfortunately, this is not the stereotype many in the mainstream throng would envision as a future Australian captain. And for Cowan, it doesn't help that he is always walking the selection tightrope because his sketchy batsmanship can make an insomniac swoon.

Which leaves me with...well....no-one. It is tradition and cricket norm for a line-up to boast a captain and a vice-captain. But, why conform? The burden is too immense for any of the potential candidates.

Clarke should govern solo. He will always have a brains trust on field to act as a sounding board. In the advent of a Clarke injury, the best candidate at the time and place will be bestowed with the stopgap honour.

So, my proposition to Cricket Australia is simple - don't waste time searching for a vice-captain that doesn't exist. Patience is required. Warner may be ready by year's end. Perhaps Bailey. Or maybe there's a precocious youngster waiting in the wings.

Clarke will eventually have a trusty deputy. That day just hasn't arrived.

I can hear the faint echoes of chatter. Let the grumbling begin.

Glaring at Tendulkar never helped: McGrath..........

Sachin Tendulkar is approaching 40 but after more than two decades in international cricket, the legendary batsman continues to be an enigma to players across the world.

"When you have achieved the amount Sachin has, it is very easy to let your guard down. Sachin's uniqueness is his ability to keep the intensity going even after 24 years of international cricket. He still chases every ball hard, runs every single with intensity, appeals with great passion and celebrates like a youngster. Such passion for the game is unprecedented and I think every youngster should learn from him," said Clarke.

Sachin Tendulkar is approaching 40 but after more than two decades in international cricket, the legendary batsman continues to be an enigma to players across the world.

Tendulkar, who celebrates his birthday on April 24, has spent close to 24 years as an India cricketer but not once has his name been smeared in controversy. Known to respect his colleagues and opponents alike, Tendulkar has never backed away from challenge but the iconic batsman has never been blamed for poor behaviour.

Not surprisingly, Tendulkar has always had avid followers in Australia from the public to the cricketing fraternity. Shane Warne, over the years, had formed a close bond with his biggest nemesis while current skipper Michael Clarke finds Tendulkar's intensity unique.

In fact, former Australian pacer Glenn McGrath, who had been engaged in some interesting duels with Tendulkar over the years, toned his sledging down against the Indian icon, fearing it would propel him to greater heights.

"I always felt it made him more determined. My success against him came when I didn't say a great deal. I realised quickly it was best not to talk too much," McGrath said.

Former India coach Gary Kirsten who had also played against Tendulkar in his days as a South African cricketer said the Indian run-scoring machine was the game's greatest role model.

"I have always found Sachin to be a thoroughly decent person. He is a humble man considering his cricket status around the world. He is cricket's greatest role model and continues to provide a great example for young aspiring cricketers on how to conduct oneself throughout one's career. Although I got to know him better when I was with the Indian team, my views have never changed," said Kirsten.

Kirsten recalled his time as the Indian coach and said Tendulkar was the ultimate team man, who always wanted the side to do well.

"I felt he had a fantastic presence in the dressing room without having to say too much. I used to really enjoy watching him have conversations with the young players on how to deal with match situations. In the time I was with the team, I always felt he had a strong desire for the team to do well, regardless of his own personal success."

Kirsten was awed by Tendulkar's keenness to always learn and improve despite achieving almost every batting record that is to be coveted. Teammates from the last quarter of a century have remarked on his outstanding work ethics and how he never wanted to take anything for granted. As coach, Kirsten had the chance to see those qualities from close quarters.

"I loved spending time in the nets with Sachin. His desire to continue asking questions and learn about his game will long live with me. However, the evening his wife Anjali came up to me to say thank you for everything I had done will remain a highlight of my coaching career," Kirsten said.

Chris Gayle - 175(66) 13 Fours n 17 Sixes :)

Tweets of the Week: Gaylestorm........

Gayle - 175 not out off 66 balls.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore posted their best ever score in the IPL on Tuesday, of 263 for five. This was thanks to a massive, record-breaking innings of 175 not out by Chris Gayle.
He scored the fastest ever T20 ton, off just 30 balls, before recording the highest score in a T20, beating Brendon McCullum's previous best of 158 not out. He also hit the most sixes in a match, 17, beating the previous best by Graham Napier for Essex in 2008.
Twitter exploded throughout the knock, with cricketers around the world astonished by the display. Here are some of the responses to the Gaylestorm (spelling and grammar mistakes included).
Former West Indies batsman Brian Lara: "I like that one wen "Gayle bats fielders become spectators and spectators become fielders" chilling @ home watching some awesome hitting."

And then Ashwin wrote: "@mstarc56 I am sure Albion and Masuri are making bowler specific helmets.Needs to cover the neck too."
India spinner Harbhajan Singh: "Gayle gayle gayle all the way. Never seen something like this.jamiacan style maaaan.gayle rule.wow this is insane.yaaa maaan"

Former South Africa fast bowler Shaun Pollock felt sorry for the bowlers: "Seriously amazing innings by Chris Gayle, 175 of 66 balls! Who would have thought that was possible a few years back! #feelforthebowlers"

Chris Gayle 175* (66b), RCB 264 for 3.......

Chris Gayle can shatter dreams. Ask Ishwar Pandey, the highest wicket-taker in this year's Ranji Trophy who got smashed for 21 in his first over this IPL. Ask Mitchell Marsh, whose decent run with the ball this IPL was blown out of his memory with first over going for 28. Ask Aaron Finch, the third captain for Pune Warriors this season who bowled an over hoping to restrict Gayle but didn't bowl again after being blasted for 29. Ask Ali Murtaza, a specialist left-arm spinner thrown into the deep end in his first game this season to be hammered for 28 in his over. The fastest hundred in T20 history was built on the misery of others, most notably a struggling franchise whose owners watched shell-shocked at their team's bowlers being taken apart with a ruthlessness only a game of Cricket '97 powered with cheat codes could have matched.

Pune will get no sympathy from us: Gayle

Chris Gayle sounded out a warning to Pune as Bangalore prepared to play their last of three consecutive home games at the M Chinnsawamy Stadium.

While the hosts are placed on second spot, Pune are languishing in the bottom half, and hurting after a crushing defeat to Punjab despite the batting finally coming good.

However, Gayle said Bangalore would not take things lightly and ensure that they take maximum points before embarking on a long phase of away games.

"The match against Pune on Tuesday marks the last of three consecutive home games for us before we head on the road for six straight away games. For this reason in particular, it's crucial for us to take maximum points," Gayle wrote in his column.

"Pune visit us after a tough loss against Punjab. But they know they will get no sympathy from us," Gayle said.

Bangalore's successful season so far is a tribute to their team spirit and some consistent performances by key players. Skipper Virat Kohli holds the Orange Cap (for most runs) while Vinay Kumar has held on to the Purple Cap (for most wickets). Gayle, who held the batting honours last year said he was happy for his teammates, but warned the team against complacency with a lot of cricket to be played in the tournament.

"It's pleasing to see that in addition to Bangalore being top of the league standings, Virat and Vinay also hold the Orange and Purple caps respectively which is a testimony to our good all-round cricket.

"We know only too well that it would be foolhardy to dwell on the present when there's still so much left to play for in the tournament.

"All our hard work is paying off, but we need to continue pulling our weight together and avoid dropping our guard if we are to secure our first objective of an early playoff spot," Gayle wrote.

Gayle was also pleased to see another West Indian great, Vivian Richards making his 'mark' in the Indian T20 League. Richards, roped in by Delhi as adviser seemed to have inspired the struggling side to a nine-wicket victory over Mumbai. Virender Sehwag roared back to form with an unbeaten 95 while Mahela Jayawardene found his touch and scored his second fifty this season.

"Meanwhile, I'm happy to see that the Indian T20 League has been enriched by the arrival of the legendary Sir Viv Richards who has joined Delhi in an advisory role. I don't think it was a coincidence that in the first game Delhi played post his appointment, they have produced their best batting display of the tournament so far.

"I'm sure his words would have inspired the Delhi players as a motivational speech from him is guaranteed to get the best out of any player," Gayle said.

Thunderhead Cloud!.....

Thunderhead Cloud!
No, it’s not an explosion or anything. That is just a cloud, looks amazing though. It’s called Thunderhead Cloud or a Cumulonimbus cloud, and the color which you can see in, is because of the sun rays falling through it. !!

Jadeja wilts under Watson pressure......

Shane Watson raises his bat after scoring a fifty, Chennai Super Kings v Rajasthan Royals, IPL 2013, Chennai, April 22, 2013

Ravindra Jadeja had a sensational game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday, taking three wickets and scoring a 14-ball 36 on a track everyone else struggled on. Things didn't work out as well for him today, as Shane Watson whacked him around the stadium. His first two overs were taken for 27, and the first ball of his third was clubbed for six by Watson. Jadeja was clearly under pressure, so much so that his second delivery was hurled so far outside off that it would have been a wide even in a Test. More displays like these, and the Sir Jadeja jokes will quickly die out.
The offbreak
"Two things you should never do: cut a spinner and pat a burning dog," Matt Prior famously said. Ajinkya Rahane learned the value of that cricketing advice in the eighth over of the match. Chennai Super Kings' trump bowler R Ashwin, who has bowled plenty of legspinners this season, got a flighted offbreak to spin in a long way. Rahane shaped for the cut but the sharp turn was too good for him, and the ball crashed into the stumps, to end a breakneck opening partnership. "Ash good as it gets," said the giant screen.
The evasive action
With Watson in a murderous mood, it wasn't only the Super Kings bowlers who were at the receiving end. In the fifth over, Watson hammered a flighted delivery from Ashwin straight back down the ground. It was a flat hit that screamed towards the umpire, who seemed set for a painful blow. At the last moment, though, he leapt as though performing a jumping jack and the ball zipped between his legs for four. The next delivery was almost punched back - not with as much power though - and the umpire had to duck to get out of the way this time.
The miss
Watson could have been dismissed as early as the fifth over. After powering his way to 32, he pushed the ball to the right of Suresh Raina at extra cover and set off for a non-existent single. Raina is one of the best fielders in the tournament, and he was onto the ball quickly. He had only one stump to aim at, and missed - with Watson already having given up.

Another fifty(wins) for Dhoni.......

MS Dhoni added another entry to the list of his achievements when he became the first captain in the IPL to lead a team to 50 wins. The landmark came with Chennai Super Kings' tight win against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 20. Super Kings have made it to four IPL finals, winning two of them, under Dhoni's leadership and in 2010, they became the first IPL team to win the Champions League Twenty20. Gautam Gambhir and Adam Gilchrist are the next two captains in the list with 31 wins each.
Dhoni, who has played as a captain in 84 IPL matches,17 more than the second-placed Gilchrist, maintains a high win to loss ratio of 1.51. For players who have led a side in more than 10 matches in the IPL, only Virat Kohli has a better ratio - 2.50 from 17 matches. However, Dhoni has also suffered the second-most losses in IPL while leading a team. While Gilchrist tops the list with 36 losses, Dhoni has been involved in 33 losses as the CSK captain.During the Test series against Australia, Dhoni had become the most successful Test captain for India with 24 wins. He has also led India to ODI and T20 World Cup titles.

DRAVID ON CSK.......

Rahul Dravid: "Very pleased [with 185]. One of the finest T20 innings from Watto, in humid conditions. Early on, we missed it a bit [with the ball]. You felt they always had the team. Every time we got a wicket, someone came in and got a six."
Dwayne Bravo praises Hussey's work ethic, saying he still keeps going despite being done with international cricket
Shane Watson: "Few things went my way with the bat but you'd take that back for a win. We knew that was a lot of runs on that wicket but we knew they have a long batting order and we would have to bowl well, but we could not execute well. [My bowling] has been something I have been missing last three months, could not do it today. Hopefully it will come out better."

CSK WON....

Chennai Superkings Won the Match ......:)
And a great innings by Mr.Cricket.

Justin Bieber hints at reconciliation...........

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

Justin Bieber has hinted he is back together with Selena Gomez by posting an intimate new photo of them together on Twitter but he quickly deleted it.
Justin Bieber has hinted he and Selena Gomez are officially back together.
The 19-year-old 'Beauty and a Beat' singer - who was dumped by the brunette beauty in December after a tumultuous two year relationship - briefly posted an uncaptioned new photo of them cuddling up together on Saturday (20.04.13) but he quickly deleted it.
The 'Spring Breakers' actress flew to Norway earlier this week to see the 'Baby' hitmaker, who is currently on tour, and they were soon spotted kissing.
A source previously said: "They were holding hands, hugging and they kissed on the lips. They looked really in love, like no fights ever happened before. It definitely looked like they were back together."
Pals recently insisted that despite their on/off relationship, the pair - who split late last year - can't stay away from each other and have an intense connection.
One friend also said: "They are totally hooking up again. There is definitely some unfinished business there and they need to work things out."
But friends close to Selena are not impressed that she is spending time with her ex-boyfriend again, despite the fact she wants to keep their relationship casual for the moment.
The insider said: "None of her girlfriends think it is a good idea. She's definitely not looking to get back with him for the long haul."
The duo broke up shortly after holidaying in Mexico where they had planned to ring in the New Year together but got into a huge argument on December 30 after she allegedly found text messages from other girls on his phone.

GSLV-D5 set for July launch......

BANGALORE: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will go ahead with the launch of a Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-D5) in July, said K Radhakrishnan, the chairman of the country's space agency.

The GSLV-D5, which will carry an indigenouscryogenic engine, will be a renewed attempt fromISRO after the launch of a GSLV-D3 (with an indigenous cryogenic engine) in April 2010 ended in failure.

"The previous seven flights of the GSLV have indicated several small issues. We have studied all that and made improvements for the GSLV-D5," said Radhakrishnan.

"We did about 35 tests to find the causes of its failure on ground on cryogenic engine and its sub systems. This time around the flight engine has been tested on ground, and has been integrated, while the cryogenic engine is in the final stage of integration," he added.

The final insulation of stage, for GSLV-D5, is currently on progress. It will then be moved to Sriharikota on May 15.

The integration of GSLV engine, meanwhile, started on January 31.

"The first stage has already been stacked, and the four strap-on are available. The review committee for integration has cleared the second liquid stage for launch," Radhakrishnan added.

The high altitude test for the cryogenic engine was conducted in a test facility, which stimulated vacuum conditions, on March 27.

There remains, however, one more high altitude test, which is yet to be conducted, said Radhakrishnan.

"We are then all set for the launch," he added.
