Earlier record for the fastest century in IPL was held by Yusuf Pathan off 37 balls. International record for the fastest century is held by Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi off 37 balls.
Gayle reached milestone by hitting Dinda for six in the IPL game involving Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors.
Gayle's contribution in the opening partnership with Dilshan was a phenomenal 127. While Dilshan scored 33 off 36 balls.
